It seems the floodgates have opened with Zelda content as of late, and the new release of the Tears of the Kingdom Master Works book is certainly contributing to that. The book released August 30, and fans worldwide are eagerly sharing their findings from their freshly arrived preorders to the public online. The official Legend of Zelda account on X released a short video of the book on launch day that ended with a beautiful never-before-seen artwork of Link, Princess Zelda, and the Sages charging ahead into battle.
The book itself is filled to the brim with exciting concept art that was produced during Tears of the Kingdom’s development, and as it turns out there is a ton of it. It’s arguably the most concept art of a Zelda game we have ever seen at once in quite a while. Multitudes of treasures featuring scratched ideas and the official art that passed are found, from the first 2019 trailer to Princess Zelda to Ganondorf, the Sages and everything in between. An official English edition of the book has not been released yet.
The developer’s notes in the book may be in Japanese, but that isn’t stopping fans from attempting to translate them. Plenty of notes regarding the story seem to be in there too that mention many things, including a possible explanation for the absence of Kass. Such fan dubbed translations have reopened heated online debates regarding the placement of the Wild Era games in the Zelda timeline once again. One thing’s for sure, however: this concept art is absolutely amazing. The following below are just some of many examples that are being shared online, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Tears of the Kingdom Master Works is currently for sale at multiple retail outlets while supplies last, which include the Japanese MyNintendo Store, Play Asia, and Amazon.
