Tetra’s Treasures: Figma Link (Skyward Sword)

Skyward Sword has been a fan-favorite since its release back in 2011. The plot, characters, and contribution to the Zelda timeline has been significant and important for Zelda lore for 13 years. With a great game comes great merch, and that’s exactly what we’re going to be discussing as I’m going to talk about the beautiful Figma Link figure, Skyward Sword edition!

Before we dive into the details of this figure, I thought it would be worth briefly discussing what Figma is. Figma is a Japanese action figure line that is distributed by the Good Smile Company which creates figures of popular anime characters, including Rengoku from Demon Slayer, Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen, Denji from Chainsaw Man, and dozens more. Currently, there is even a Tears of the Kingdom Link figure for pre-order!

Moving back to Skyward Sword, I had pre-ordered this figure back when it became available in 2012, but it took a while for it to arrive. I don’t exactly remember the details, but I know that it took months to possibly a year for it to be delivered. When it finally arrived, I had completely forgotten that I had ordered it because it had been so long. However, once I opened the packaging and feasted my eyes upon the beautiful figure before me, I knew that the long wait had been worth it.

Before I start describing this figure, I just want to make it known that I never freed Link from his box; in other words, I kept it unopened and undamaged in its original form. As a Zelda collector, I never open figures if I could help it. I find that figures are better in a box, especially Zelda ones!

It features our favorite hero clad in his iconic green tunic and hat along with his trusted sword and shield. A face and hair change are also included. The art on the back of the box features different poses and facial expressions that the figure could make, and most of the writing is in Japanese. I don’t remember how much it cost, but whatever it was, it was worth it! This figure is product number 153 and it features an official Nintendo Seal which means that this is an official Nintendo product. Speaking about that, there is a bootleg version of this figure, so be careful if you ever try to pick one up in the wild.

I really love this Link because it was the first figure to enter my Zelda collection, so it has a special place in my heart. My next goal is to collect the Tears of the Kingdom Figma figure, so stay tuned for that article!
