Time is running out as certain preorders for Lost In Cult’s latest volume of [lock-on] Vol. 006 comes to a close after this weekend. The crowdfunding campaign was originally set to end December 19, 2023, but due to popular demand and a remarkable opportunity, Lost in Cult extended the deadline to February 18, 2024. Their crowdfunding goal of £70,000 has not only met but doubled to £160,000 total. The small UK-based publication team recently encountered an opportunity for the renowned Final Fantasy Illustrator Yoshitaka Amano to sign 180 copies of [lock-on] Vol. 006. If you already preordered the Deluxe Edition, you can upgrade to Amano’s signed copy on the Lost In Cult website, but you’ll have to act fast. Preorder upgrades for the signed copies are set to end February 18 after this weekend.
What exactly is [lock-on] Vol. 006? In short, the book is a giant love letter to The Legend of Zelda series and other game franchises. It’s a physical publication that’s made by fans, for fans.
“Featuring over 400 pages of long-form essays, custom artwork, and concept galleries, this is the ultimate tribute to the past, present, and future of games culture,” states the Lost In Cult publication staff. “Seventy pages of [lock-on] Vol. 006 are dedicated to celebrating The Legend of Zelda.” This includes but is not limited to beautiful fan illustrations and long-form essays about Ocarina of Time, Zelda II, Wind Waker, Breath of the Wild, Twilight Princess, the CD-i games, and many more, as well as an exclusive interview with Matt Mercer, voice actor for Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom.
All online purchases of [lock-on] Vol. 006 and other merchandise with Lost In Cult can be made with a special Zelda Universe affiliate code arranged in partnership with Lost In Cult. When applied, the affiliate code will send a portion of the sales to help benefit the Zelda Universe community.
