The 2023 Game Awards has come to a close. Tonight’s show was arguably one of the most entertaining ones in the past couple of years. We had guest appearances from various game producers like Hideo Kojima unveiling his new upcoming game entitled simply “OD” that he is working on with renowned filmmaker Jordan Peele. The night had uncanny performances from such bands as the Game Awards Orchestra, and the Old Gods of Asgard. There was also a slew of new game reveals like the much anticipated Monster Hunter 6, now officially revealed to be Monster Hunter: Wilds.
With so many amazing games to choose from this year, the choices among nominations were no doubt difficult to make. Tears of the Kingdom was able to snag a win with the category of Best Action Adventure Game. It was also nominated for Game of the Year which went to the much-earned Baldur’s Gate 3, Best Game Direction which went to Alan Wake 2, Best Art Direction which also went to Alan Wake 2 again, and Best Score and Music which went to Final Fantasy XVI.
Nonetheless, this year will be remembered in the books. We’re thrilled that Tears of the Kingdom won another award. It is one of the best games ever made and highly recommended to play and enjoy if you haven’t already. Zelda fans have good reason to be proud that this amazing game Mr. Anouma and the rest of the Zelda team worked so hard to create is already doing well in this golden age of gaming. Now let’s see how Hollywood treats our favorite hero in green next.
