The latest edition of Lost In Cult’s award-winning publication [lock-on], Vol. 006, launched today, and a good swath of it is dedicated to the The Legend of Zelda series. The journal is a thing of beauty and the fruit of many gaming fans coming together through art, prose, and creativity.
“Featuring over 400 pages of long-form essays, custom artwork, and concept galleries, this is the ultimate tribute to the past, present, and future of games culture,” state the Lost in Cult publication staff. “Seventy pages of [lock-on] Vol. 006 are dedicated to celebrating The Legend of Zelda.” This includes but is not limited to beautiful fan illustrations and long-form essays about Ocarina of Time, Zelda II, Wind Waker, Breath of the Wild, Twilight Princess, the CD-i games, and many more, as well as an exclusive interview with Matt Mercer, voice actor for Ganondorf in Tears of the Kingdom.
The publisher has launched a 60-day crowdfunding campaign for the project, which ends on December 19 at 6pm GMT. [lock-on] Vol. 006 will be available in three editions: Standard, Premium, and Deluxe. They plan to ship orders for Vol. 006 by the second quarter of 2024. Lost in Cult is based in the United Kingdom, but they also ship books internationally. At the time of publication, less than 24 hours after the campaign launch, they are nearly halfway to their funding goal.
Aside from Zelda content, Vol. 006 is crammed to the brim with coverage of other games such as Final Fantasy, Metroid Prime, Star Fox, and even Disney Illusion Island. “From indie to AAA, [lock-on] leaves no story untold as we voyage through development retrospectives, thoughtful analysis and touching personal reflections,” state the Lost in Cult staff.
All three editions of [lock-on] Vol. 006 will feature all the Zelda content. According to crowdfunding details from Lost in Cult, the confirmed extra content material and price for each edition is as follows:
