Tingle’s Maps: Zelda’s Room (Skyward Sword)

Upon taking a tour through Link’s Room in Skyward Sword, now we travel to another part of the Skyloft Knights Academy and give another notable resident’s room a visit! Now is the time to explore none other than Zelda’s room!

Zelda’s room in Skyward Sword was a place that I thought was impossible to access. The locked door deterred me from even trying, and I assumed the area wasn’t meant to be explored. That is until I was finding all the Gratitude Crystals and discovered the dowsing ability going crazy at Zelda’s room! I knew the room was possible to access, but how? A quick walkthrough online showed me a secret path that allows the room to be explored. This secret path requires the Clawshots and it’s located not too far from the Knight’s Academy. The post where you Clawshot yourself is a chimney, and dropping down into it leads you into a small attic space in the Knight Academy. In that small attic space is a crawl through which leads you right into Zelda’s room!

Zelda’s room is full of fun surprises. There is one Gratitude Crystal in plain sight and opening her dresser reveals a piece of heart! To the right of her dresser is a cute desk full of cute knick-knacks. She has a Tingle plush that sits in the middle along with books, a carving of her blue Loftwing, and a basket full of different colored yarn. There is also a mysterious letter with a heart. In my previous article about Link’s room, I detailed his wood carving station and assumed that Link enjoys wood sculpting based on the wooden Loftwing figures. Seeing that Zelda has two blue Loftwing statues, I’m going to assume that Link made them for her using his wood sculpting skills!

There is evidence that suggests that Zelda enjoys knitting. The basket of yarn on her desk is definitely not just for show! Zelda has these adorable blue pillows with a flower design along with a tapestry hanging off the wall she shares with Karane. Did Zelda knit the Tingle plush on her desk? It’s possible! Zelda’s room has so many adorable pink items in it and it’s safe to say it’s her favorite color. Her pink bed, flowers, light above her desk, and circle rug make for a very lovely rosy room fit for both the daughter of the headmaster and the reincarnation of the Goddess Hylia!

My favorite part about Zelda’s room is the painting of her and her dad. She placed it to the left of her door and it’s something she’ll see when she opens her eyes in the morning. Zelda and her father are very close in this game and it’s heartwarming to see that expressed through the painting of them in her room. We know that Link is good at making wood sculptures, so who’s to say that Link didn’t paint the painting of Zelda and her father? We know that he has access to paint, so anything is possible! I love the idea of Zelda having knitting as her hobby and Link having wood sculpturing as his hobby; they’re two very artful people and it’s all very wholesome.

Zelda’s room is an adorable representation of her as a character. We know that she wears a pink dress, but exploring her very pink room tells us so much more about her. Her knitting station, her books, her cute pillows, all tell us that she’s a very fun and creative person who cares a lot about her hobbies and school life. I was so happy when I discovered that I was able to access Zelda’s room, and I look forward to continuing my second run of Skyward Sword!
