As the great modern-day philosopher Steve Harwell said, the glitches in Breath of the Wild “start comin‘ and they don’t stop comin‘.” Or something like that anyway. Glitch hunter and Twitter user @iLegendofLinkk has discovered a way to prevent wooden and flammable weapons from being burned away.
It’s a pretty simple glitch to pull off. All you need to do is set an item on fire, drop a bomb, and sheath the weapon as the bomb is exploding. If you ever dreamed of beating Fireblight Ganon with a torch, by all means, this is the way to do it.
There are a few caveats to this glitch, of course. Items cannot be fireproofed while on Death Mountain; it has to be done before you scale the peak. This is most likely due to the high ambient temperature. It also is not permanent. You will have to re-fireproof every time you put a weapon away or load a save.
Now, is it worth all the trouble of blowing yourself up to have fireproof level two weapons? Probably not. Would it be hilarious if you happen to beat a boss with one? Absolutely.
