Talented musician releases brand new Latin-inspired Zelda album ‘Bossa de Hyrule’

YouTuber, Zelda fan, and musician Steven Morris released a new jazz-filled album Bossa de Hyrule on August 15.

Bossa de Hyrule is a beautiful tribute to The Legend of Zelda series through a set of five different bossa nova-styled songs. To help achieve the iconic sound of this salsa-inspired genre, Steven said he used a variety of instruments such as nylon string guitars, a fretless bass, an electric reed piano, a variety of Latin percussion, and a wind section. Altogether, the ensemble creates a beautiful and tropical vibe reminiscent of the “New Wave Bossa Nova” from Majora’s Mask.

The full tracklist of the album includes:

  1. “Ocarina of Time Title Screen” (Ocarina of Time)
  2. “Dragon Roost Island” (The Wind Waker)
  3. “Midna’s Lament” (Twilight Princess)
  4. “Dark World” (A Link to the Past)
  5. “Inside a House” (Link’s Awakening)

Beyond Bossa de Hyrule, Steven Morris has done many other video game covers on his YouTube page and has written for games such as Final Fantasy: Boogie Knights, Relax’N, Cries of the Planet, and more.

Bossa de Hyrule is available on all major music platforms today and the YouTube video is down below, so be sure to check out this relaxing and well-made album, as well as the rest of Morris’ work!
