Last week, preorders opened for the Zelda-based charity zine, Fated: A Zelink Zine. The packages up for preorder include a large fanzine of fan art and writings, a brand-new album of Zelda-inspired music, and exclusive merchandise. The best part of all is that all proceeds from the magazine go towards The Able Gamer!
The Able Gamer is a non-profit organization that combats social isolation among disabled kids by making video games accessible to everyone. According to the charity, even before the COVID-19 pandemic started, 35-45% of people with disabilities were socially isolated, and during the pandemic, it has become an increasingly larger issue. This is why the people behind Fated care so much about this cause as nobody should have to be isolated and not able to experience the joys of the world. To help raise money for the cause, Fated: A Zelink Zine is selling a wide variety of products.
Fated: A Zelink Zine promises to feature new art, stories, music, and merchandise from talent across the Zelda community. The cornerstone of the fanzine’s offerings is the 200-page magazine dedicated to the pairing of Zelda and Link, or “Zelink,” showcasing brand new art and writings about the Triforce-crossed lovers. While the two main characters of most Zelda games have never been officially together, their close bond throughout the series has inspired countless talented works of art and storytelling from fans around the world.
Beyond the zine, there are tons of wonderful content offered in the project’s packages that are up for preorder. Most notably is the album of music inspired by The Legend of Zelda. I personally can never get enough of the amazing Legend of Zelda music and am excited to hear a brand-new album made by fans. Alongside the album, there are multiple pieces of merchandise, such as prints, stickers, memo pads, charms, and acrylic standees.
All of these offerings will be available to purchase from June 5 to July 31 in the following packages:
Individual merch may also be purchased for those who want a specific item. More information about the charity and offerings by the fanzine can be found on the Fated website!
