Yuga’s Art Gallery: Tough cookie Link

I love sweets. Chocolates, pastries, baklava, you name it: As long as it’s sweet, it will most likely end up in my tummy. But under rare, unfortunate events when I don’t have anything sweet waiting for me in the kitchen cupboard, I often search for images of sweets instead, or even videos, although I know watching them will hardly make my cravings go away. I suppose I just love to make myself suffer. But recently, I made a wonderful find that made not only my sweet tooth happy, but my inner fangirl as well.

YouTube is full of creative people, and Alice happens to be the talented baker behind the prettiest Zelda-themed cookies I have ever seen. She has recorded the process and shared the video on her YouTube channel, and I think both baking and Zelda enthusiasts will enjoy it very much. I like baking every once in a while too, but perhaps not as much as I enjoy watching someone else (especially someone more talented than me) bake sweets.

In her video, Alice demonstrates how she uses royal icing in 12 different colors to pipette the shapes of Link, Marin, and an Octorok from the remake of Link’s Awakening on perfectly shaped cookies. With a steady hand and utmost precision, Alice patiently brings the characters to life. They look nearly identical to the promotional art for the game when she’s done.

After watching this sugary sweet video, I think I can finally agree with CD-i Link: I’m so hungry, I could eat an Octorok! But on one condition: it has to come in the shape of a cookie.
