There’s nothing like seeing a video game’s box art for the first time. Personally, I’m someone who admires this form of art. I occasionally pick up a case from my shelf just to give it a glance over. The victim of this admiration is usually The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask. However, when I do this, I cannot help but look at both the Nintendo 64 version and the 3DS version.
The platform we’ll be paying attention to today is none other than the original Game Boy. Bitmap Books is releasing a follow-up to the amazing Super Famicom: The Box Art collection in the form of the Game Boy: The Box Art Collection. This wonderful guide to all things Game Boy is being written by Damien McFerran with artwork by ex-Rare concept artist Will Overton.

From the front cover alone, this book looks amazing, and I’ll definitely be snagging one for myself. If you’re interested in getting one of these beauties, the book is slated for a November 2020 release window. More details are set to be announced in September, including information about pre-order options and much more.
Talking about all this box art chatter has put me in that mindset. Time to go through my collection and admire the catalogue of amazing box arts that I have in my possession.
