Skyward Sword is something of an outcast in the Zelda series: critically acclaimed at launch, but now mostly dismissed by the fanbase. Hopefully, it will get another chance to shine with a re-release, sans motion controls, one day.
Until then, we have this new video from Zeltik that takes a deep dive into some of the smaller, obscure Easter eggs found in Skyloft. In doing so, the video opens eyes (and ears!) to how interconnected the entry is to the rest of the mainline series. My favorite: the use of the bug-catching net in the final battle with Demise.
Skyward Sword might never get the recognition of something like Ocarina of Time or even the cult status of Majora’s Mask, but for a lot of folks, it will be an entry that begs to be reconsidered. The video did a great job getting me excited to revisit it someday.
