According to the recently published March NPD numbers, Animal Crossing: New Horizons for the Nintendo Switch was the bestselling video game of March. It is the fifth mainline title in the Animal Crossing series and is already the bestselling entry.
It hasn’t stopped there, however, as the game also reached an even more impressive milestone. New Horizons is the third biggest launch ever for a Nintendo title, slotting behind only Super Smash Bros. Ultimate and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The game’s launch has surpassed those of all Zelda and Mario games.
It is currently the bestselling game of the year in the U.S., beaten only by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, a multiplatform title.
