Awesome Games Done Quick 2018 may have concluded almost a week ago, but that doesn’t mean you can’t relive some of the most exciting speedruns and races that took place. In case you missed it, one of the most impressive showcases of skill at the event was the A Link to the Past Randomizer race between Andy and ChristosOwen.

Put simply, a randomizer is a type of race in which the important items of a game are shuffled and differ from their original positions. This forces participants to create and formulate routes on the fly and shows just how intimately runners know their game of choice. Both players in this race are experts of A Link to the Past, making it a thrill to watch.

Luckily, the events from the various GDQs are uploaded to YouTube, so you can watch the run in its entirety below.

For reference, the race actually begins at 26:43.

If the race piqued your curiosity, you can learn more about the subject by visiting the randomizer homepage. The community is very friendly, so I highly recommend checking it out if you’re interested!
