The Pro controller for the Switch is arguably one of the best ways to play on Nintendo’s newest console. With a couple of variations for the controller already having been released, it’s odd that Nintendo hasn’t opted to sell a Zelda-themed version yet. It appears that this will no longer be a concern, as the video game peripheral manufacturer, PowerA, has announced that they will be selling officially licensed controllers bearing themes from both the Zelda and Mario franchises.
Dubbed the PowerA Wired Controller Plus, both versions of the controller come with a 10-foot removable USB cable, soft-touch rubber grips, and six interchangeable analogue caps to further customize your new toy.
Here’s a couple of photos to give you an idea of what they look like.
Both controllers are slated for release on October 23, 2017 in the United States and retail for $29.99 each. Although cheaper than the official Switch Pro Controller, it should be noted that these are wired and do not possess HD Rumble features.
Meanwhile, those who live in the United States and would like to preorder them can do so from Amazon. As of this writing, both the Zelda and Mario controllers are still available. Given the scarcity of the Switch and Switch-related products, it would probably be a safe bet to preorder them as soon as possible if you’re interested.
