Breath of the Wild glitch brings new meaning starting off with a blank slate

I always enjoy learning about glitches. Whether they are beneficial, silly, or game-breaking, glitches are just interesting. By exploiting a newly found glitch in Breath of the Wild, you can leave the Shrine of Resurrection without having the Sheikah Slate. To do this, you’ll want to start a brand new game over an existing save file, then save the game in the Shrine of Resurrection.

Next you’ll need to open an old save file and go jump off a cliff (how often do you get that bit of advice?). As soon as you drop off that cliff, hit pause and load the file for the Shrine of Resurrection. Link will then “die” and out the shrine he goes, with no pants, no shirt, and no Sheikah Slate.

So what will happen if Link doesn’t have his Sheikah Slate? Teleporting will be impossible, no Hyrule Compendium, and say goodbye to the Sheikah Sensor. You can, however, still activate shrines.

If you’re worried about accidentally ending up slateless, don’t be. It’s difficult to perform this glitch by mistake. But if you’re looking for a different kind of challenge or just want to do try a cool new trick, you can watch a step-by-step video guide below.
