The Wii was one of the most successful consoles for Nintendo and targeted people outside of the typical demographic of gamers. The fantastic sales figures were put down to the revolutionary controls which made gaming much more accessible for many. Nintendo have constantly strived for innovation and they are hoping that the Switch can be just as successful as the Wii, which are very high expectations. Despite the huge appeal of the Wii, you may not have used it in a while, but if you do then you’ll be greeted by a message informing you that Youtube will soon stop supporting the console.

Reddit user adanfime was the first to notify people about this message from Youtube. It states that the Wii will lose support on June 30. It’s not a surprising that Youtube have made this move, it’s hard to imagine too many people use this service on the Wii anymore. But it is a shame to see the Wii losing support; it feels like an end of an era for the very successful console.

The Wii U never managed to capture the excitement that it’s predecessor created, but the Switch is well on its way to doing just that. Nintendo are a very forward thinking company who pride themselves on innovation, but it may be worth taking some time to look back over your old Wii and the collection of iconic games available for it.

I get you’re referencing the Wii. Can you elaborate on your first point?

            – Tons of shovelware
            – Only a few good games
            – Motion controls gimmick that most of the games use for the novelty or just because they have the option, but almost none of them implement it well.
            – Subpar online service
            – Behind the competence in almost everything.
Idk what else to say. It was a big scam in my opinion.
