Back in February there was a flurry of rumors surrounding Netflix and a possible deal with Nintendo to bring The Legend of Zelda to the small screen as a television series. And while Nintendo has so far denied any talk of a Zelda film or show, that hasn’t stopped artists such as Matt Vince from imagining a dream collaboration between the big N and one of the most beloved animated film studios of all time.
Taking inspiration from Studio Ghibli’s unmistakable style and combining it with the familiar landmarks of The Legend of Zelda, Matt gives life to something that may never be — but that won’t stop us from wishing for it. The classic characters Zelda, Link, and Ganondorf look like they were pulled straight out of a Ghibli film in these beautiful posters.
As a huge fan of both The Legend of Zelda and Studio Ghibli, my geeky heart soars at the thought of Nintendo joining up with the legendary studio. It will probably never happen, but if you want a touch of Zelda movie goodness you can check out Zelda Universe’s recent release of Skyward Sword: The Movie, Act I.
