It’s no surprise that the Zelda series has had a large influence on video games. In fact, many developers and employees of other video game companies view the series as one of their all-time favorites. This is cool and all, but how many big companies go about praising it in public? In an interesting development, Microsoft posted a tweet on their Twitter asking people the following question:

The video on the Xbox Twitter showcases Gersh, one of the members of the Xbox team, sharing memories and discussing the impact of his favorite game of all time — which happens to be Ocarina of Time! It’s really interesting and refreshing to see one of Nintendo’s competitors publicly praising one of their most storied franchises and giving one of the seminal releases in the series such high praise. It just goes to show that regardless of what company someone works for, a good game transcends all consoles and brand association.

    recognition from the competition

Well yeah, so long as they played it and enjoyed it, there isn’t much reason to dislike it just because of it being for a different console.

Nothing to be amazed about, at the end of the day we’re all gamers that love good video games. The only problem here would be if the Microsoft executives dislike the person in charge of the Twitter Account praising an IP owned by a competitor.

lol it’s cool and all, but my first thought about this was, “I just hope this guy doesn’t get fired or punished for doing this.”
