Yet another Top 5 list has been released by a Zelda fan site; however, this is not your typical top 5 list. The Hidden Triforce has released its Top 5 list of Zelda enemies that need to be redeemed.

Many of our favorite Zelda enemies have changed drastically over the years – some have unfortunately made a change for the worse. Personally, I love the Toucan Sam version of Wizzrobe found in The Wind Waker. If any enemy needs redemption, it is Goomba, from Link’s Awakening!

Which enemy do you feel deserves redemption?

Goomba

I loved how the darknuts in wind waker and twilight princess were HUGE and more impossible than they were in the original Zelda

I thought the Goriyas were in Ages/Seasons, and Link's Awakening too.

wow, there really ARE a lot of Top whatever lists lately. hmm, go fig

I liked the Wizzrobes in WW, too. I did NOT however like the Moblins in that game. they should go back the Oot design, and that goes for Stalfos too. they looked big, intimidating, and badass. WW moblins were retarded, and TP Stalfos were wimpy looking.
and I think Octorocks should come out of water again too.

what the fuck is a Goriya? it almost sounds like the offensive, racist stereotypical way an Asian is supposedly supposed to say 'Gorilla'

Goriyas ARE in Seasons, Ages, and Awakening, as I recall.

(Note on Octoroks: In both Phantom Hourglass AND Spirit Tracks, the Octoroks appeared in both their aquatic and terrestrial versions, so you can't really complain about trying to get them 'on land' when that's already been done in a 3-D game.)

Although, there are a couple of enemies that have appeared in 2-D games that have not yet made 3-D appearances… Goriyas, Lynels, etc. I'd like to see some of the 2-D enemies make a reappearance in future games in 3-D. Just to see how they'd be handled, design-wise.

Plus, the ReDead needs redemption. Nintendo had the chance in Twilight Princess to make a scary, realistic zombie enemy out of the ReDead, but what did we get? A ReDead 'Knight' which was actually a Gibdo in the Japanese version of TP. (Why did they make that name change in the English version?) We need scary ReDead! Even though some people are already creeped out by them as they are…

    Concerning my last post…

My bad, Goriya is not an enemy in Seasons, Ages, or Awakening… instead there's Moblins who can attack with boomrangs.

There's a middle boss that involves two bull-like enemies attacking with a Boomerang. While they don't look like weasels, they're not Moblins either, so they're probably meant to be Goriyas.

  • I liked the wind waker / minish cap Moblins better than the OOT ones but I would like to see the Land and Water Octoroks in the same game, and if Vaati came back I would literally jump for joy in the middle of Wal-Mart

I really miss the OOT designs of the Moblins. Having them look like pigs just like Ganon really put too much "GENERIC MOOK ENEMY LOL" feeling into them. The Gibdos were in TP and behaved as they used to, though. Rotting flesh and bones isn't going to let you run very fast at all, obviously.

All I want to see return are the Wall and Floor Masters, the OOT redeads, and the dead hands. Those were the only Zelda enemies that could scare me.

I don't see why Moblins need redemption. The Wind Waker was full of them and they were pretty cool in that I thought. They played their role as minions very well. I never liked the Ocarina of Time Moblins much, they were just bulky and noisy.

It should be noted that the Goriyas in A Link to the Past weren't even Goriyas, the guide just called them that because they looked a bit like them, in Japan they weren't called Goriyas.

As for enemies that need redeeming, I would like to see some really terrifying Wizzrobes again, and Octoroks on land, but most of all I want to see Lynels.

WW Redeads, and TP Stalfos. (though it was cool fighting back hordes of them.)

  • N64 Games FTW

TP – Darknut looked like he was about to chop me in half the first time I saw one
TP – Staflos I liked them
WW – Miniblins should go die in a hole, they are one of the meanest creations ever, (But I really did like taking the skull hammer to them)
TP – Octarocks = meh, thats about all I can say… Because since the Zelda Team is aming for more graphically enhanced games, I really cannot see the Oot or MM Octarocks being in TP
TP – Redeads are the second meanest things ever invented

  • veeronic

simply put… the miniblins in windwaker do not exist….. there has never been and never will be an enemy that repeatedly says dink and dies with no effort at all in any zelda game, they do not exist and that is final

  • xmasterswordx

I think it would be cool to see a Vire again. I think the last game they were in was Link's Awakening. Could be cool
