Tears of the Kingdom: How to complete the ‘Serenade to a Great Fairy’ side adventure
“Serenade to a Great Fairy” is one of the 12 side adventures of the Lucky Clover Gazette quest line, “Potential Princess Sightings!” that, as the name suggests, has you look for clues on the missing Princess Zelda’s whereabouts.
As a recommendation, it’s worth making this one of the first quests you complete upon picking up the newspaper questline because it’s one of the easier quests and it’s the first step in unlocking the first of four Great Fairies. Much like their role in Breath of the Wild, the Great Fairies have the ability to upgrade and strengthen your many pieces of armor to better your chances at surviving post-upheaval Hyrule.

To begin this quest you will need to first visit the Woodland Stable southwest of Eldin Canyon. The coordinates of the Stable are 1043, 1147, 0022.
When first arriving at Woodland Stable, you can make return trips easier by activating the Ekochiu Shrine of Light just north of the stable.
There are a few requirements that you will need to meet to complete this quest:
- Traysi must have already recruited you when you arrived at the Lucky Clover Gazette headquarters at (what used to be) Rito Stable.
- You must have at least three Pony Points to be rewarded with the Towing Harness needed to pull the musician’s cart. If you haven’t collected that many yet, stay overnight at the stables for three nights and you will amass enough points for the harness.
- In order to tow the wagon when it’s fixed, you will need a horse of your own. If you don’t already have a horse, then you must to tame and register one at a stable. You can find several horses grazing in a paddock to the west of Woodland Stable.

When first arriving at the stable, you will find Penn conversing with the Stable Trotters musicians, Mastro and Violynne. Listen to the conversation and Violynne will tell you, as she points up at the northwestern hill, where pink plume puffs up into the air, that the Great Fairies sealed themselves away shortly after the Upheaval. She also suggests that the only way of rousing them from their bud is the sound of music.
The duo had planned to take their music to the first Great Fairy, Tera, in hopes of coaxing her out. Unfortunately, the wagon they use to carry their equipment around, Breezer, was destroyed after a crash. Supposedly a woman with blonde hair jumped out at them one night, causing the crash, and the frightened horse towing it to bolt away into the darkness.
How to Complete Serenade to a Great Fairy
After the conversation with the Stable Trotters, turn to your left and to find a small shed containing a mixture of different building materials. The only things you will need from here are the wheels. Approach the shed and pick up three of them and take them over to where Breezer the Wagon is perched on top of a rock. Using Ultrahand, pick up each wheel and secure them in place on the wagon until the wagon can stand self-sufficiently. Simple enough.

Next, you need a horse to pull the wagon. As mentioned before, if you don’t have a horse of your own at this point, you’ll have to tame a wild horse nearby. However, if you do have a horse that is boarded at the stable, then you can use that to tow the Stable Trotters wagon instead.
Once you have your horse, take it out of the stable and have the stablehand attach your towbar to it. Then you can use Ultrahand to attach the other side to Breezer the wagon. Once that’s done, tell Mastro that you have managed to fix his wagon. The scene will cut to the Stable Trotters sitting on Breezer awaiting you.
Before you approach your horse, you will see a red arrow sign pointing in the direction you need to go. Be mindful that you do not jostle the musicians in the cart too much, as they will abandon the vehicle and you’ll have to restart the journey at the stable. This shouldn’t be too difficult as the route to Tera is fairly simple.

As you ascend the hill, you will approach a tall concrete tower. Take a left here and continue up the path. You should now see the plume of pink puffs of smoke as you approach it. Carry on following the path until you approach a small group of trees.
Here you’ll notice that there is a fork in the road. Take another left here and continue to follow what’s left of the path and approach the Great Fairy Fountain. You have now arrived at your destination!

This is all you need to do, as the Stable Trotters will take over from here. After a sweet cutscene, Tera will emerge from her bud.
Penn will fly up to meet you at the Great Fairy Fountain and pay you your fee for completing this quest and fly off to another stable.
Before you leave, talk to Tera again, and she will pinpoint the areas on your map where you can find her sisters. Find the three other Great Fairies so you can upgrade your pieces of armor to their full potential.
