Exploring the Depths and unlocking the Camera
Table of Contents
The Camera function is essential for multiple sidequests, and it also makes certain main quests easier to complete. That is why we suggest you complete this quest as early as possible.
Talk With Robbie and Josha
Go to Lookout Landing to find Robbie and his assistant Josha talking to each other. They will tell about a discovery made in the chasm south of your location. Some of the researchers had found a stone fragment with the image of some humanoid figure carved into it. Josha wishes to investigate this mystery further, but Robbie won’t allow her to. That is why you will go in her place.

Robbie will provide the location of the chasm, creating a marker on your map. The chasm is almost directly south of Lookout Landing, making the process of reaching it simple.
Gather Brightbloom Seeds
Before you explore the chasm, you’ll want to make sure you’re adequately prepared. There is no natural light at the bottom, so you’ll need to bring your own light sources. Josha will provide you with 10 Brightbloom Seeds after speaking with her, but you might want to collect more if you intend to explore more of the Depths than what is required for this quest. You can find more Brightbloom Seeds in wells, caves, or almost any other underground area.

Once you have as many seeds as you’d prefer, proceed to the point marked on your map.
Open Jiosin Shrine
Close to the chasm is another Shrine of Light. Open this Shrine, but you do not need to complete it right away if you do not want to. You merely want to activate the fast travel point so you can quickly return to the chasm if you leave it for any reason.

Dive into the Chasm
Jump into the chasm and use your Paraglider to safely reach the bottom. This massive area beneath Hyrule’s surface is called the Depths. At the bottom, you will see that most of the Depths are dark and nearly impossible to see. Close to your landing point will be one of Robbie’s assistants.

Speak with this Zonai Research Team member to learn that Robbie had gone on ahead deeper into the Depths. You’ll need to use Brightbloom Blossoms to help you see, but there are also torches lit in the distance. You can follow the path of these torches to find Robbie.
Follow the light to the Nisoij Lightroot and Activate it
Along the path to the torches is a large root system growing toward the surface. If you stand under it, you’ll see that there is a green circle you can activate with your hand. Examine it to generate more light, a map of this portion of the Depths, and a fast-travel point. With that done, continue on your path toward the torches.

Follow the Torches to Find Robbie
Finding Robbie is fairly simple as long as you continue following the torches. There are some enemy camps between you and him, but you can either defeat them or go around them.
Robbie will be at the end of the trail you’ve been following, standing by another Lightroot, the Iayusus Lightroot, and a large statue. Ignore the statue for now. First, activate the Lightroot, then speak with Robbie.

Take A Picture of the Statue
Robbie will explain that the statue bears a striking resemblance to the carving Josha is researching. To compare them, Robbie asks you to take a picture of the statue with the Purah Pad. This is when Robbie will teach you how the Camera works, unlocking it for you to use at any time.

Plant a Brightbloom Blossom near the statue to illuminate it, then use the Purah Pad to take a picture. With your objective complete, you can now leave the Depths.
Return to Lookout Landing
Fast travel back to Lookout Landing and meet with Josha and Robbie, who returned from the Depths as well. Josha will give you five pieces of Zonaite as a reward for helping her, thus completing your goal.
