Where to find every Piece of Heart in The Minish Cap
There are 44 Pieces of Heart to find in The Minish Cap. Follow the instructions below to find them all and increase Link’s maximum health.
The Pieces of Heart (also known as Heart Pieces) are sorted by location and list any items or other requirements you will need to obtain them.
Castor Wilds
- (Requirements: Pegasus Boots) Use the boots to reach the westernmost land in the Castor Wilds. Once there, push on a tombstone in the southwest sector and enter the hidden cavern.
- (Requirements: Flippers) Enter a cave found in the region’s northeast sector. Push the blocks to your right.
- (Requirements: Flippers and a Kinstone Fusion) Perform a Kinstone Fusion with a Town Minish in a Minish House on the western side of town. In the wilds, use the Minish Portal in the northeast sector to shrink down, then cross through the swamps to reach the southeast. Enter the cave that the Kinstone Fusion revealed.
Cave Of Flames
- (Requirements: Bombs) In the room with the upside-down mine cart, walk past the cart and down its tracks. At the end of the tracks, use a Bomb on the crack portion of the southern wall to reveal an entrance. Pass through it to find the Piece of Heart.
Deepwood Shrine
- (Requirements: Gust Jar) In the room where you find the Gust Jar, use the jar to remove a spider web at the bottom-right of the screen to reveal a doorway to a secret room.
- (Requirements: Gust Jar) Use the Gust Jar to clear away piles of dust in the room directly north of the large central room with the barrel. Step on the two switches that were hidden under the dust to reveal the dungeon’s blue portal. Leave the room for now and continue exploring the dungeon. Return to this room after you have found the Big Key and the red portal. Go through the red portal and then the blue portal to find the Piece of Heart.
Eastern Hills
- (Requirements: Ocarina of Wind) Complete Kinstone Fusion with a Town Minish in the mushroom house in the southwestern corner of the Eastern Hills to make a beanstalk grow in the southwest sector of the hills.
Fortress of Winds
- Go through the door at the furthest-east point of the first room. Ascend two floors, then use the Minish Portal to shrink down. Once you are Minish size, fall through the hole in the ground to reach the second floor again. Fall through the next hole you’ll see to return to the first floor. Go through a small passageway to your right to find the Piece of Heart.
Hyrule Castle Garden
- Cut down some bushes in the southeast corner of the garden to reveal a hidden cave. This cave is home to one of the Swordsman and a Piece of Heart.
- Complete a second Kinstone Fusion with Hurdy-Gurdy Man to reveal a secret passage in the northeast portion of the garden.
Hyrule Town
- (Requirements: Cane of Pacci) Flip over the pot in the home of the boy with a dog to find a Minish Portal. Shrink down, exit the building, and travel northwest to reach a vine. Climb the vine and follow the trail until you find the Piece of Heart.
- Win the minigame at Simon’s Simulations.
- (Requirements: Roc’s Cape) Use the Roc’s Cap to ring the bell in town.
- (Requirements: Flippers, Roc’s Cape) Shrink down, travel behind the fountain, across the bridge, and use the Roc’s Cape to reach the western side.
- (Requirements: Four Sword) Shrink down in the school, enter the schoolyard, and go to the end of the Minish path. Duplicate Link and push the nearby block.
- (Requirements: Flippers) Help rescue all of Anju’s Cuccos. This is a 10-phase minigame. Each time, she’ll ask you to find the Cuccos in a set number of seconds. The final phase will require the use of the Flippers.
- After obtaining all of the figurines from Carlov, speak to a man standing just to the left of the cafe. You might need to speak to him multiple times. He will then unlock the door to his home. Enter the home to find the Piece of Heart.
Lake Hylia
- (Requirements: Flippers) There is a small building just north of Lake Hylia. To its left is a small pond. Dive into the pond to find the Piece of Heart.
- (Requirements: Flippers) Swim to the southern part of the lake to find this Piece of Heart on a ledge.
- (Requirements: Flippers) Find this piece in the swordmaster Waveblade’s dojo. Waveblade resides in a tree on Like Hylia’s southwestern shore.
- (Requirements: Roc’s Cape) Use the Roc’s Cape to reach a platform in the center of Lake Hylia and to the north of the Temple of Droplets.
- (Requirements: Roc’s Cape, Kinstone Fusion) Perform a Kinstone Fusion with a Forest Minish in the Northeast corner of Minish Village. Following the fusion, jump across the islands in Lake Hylia to reach the island with a hole you can dig into. Use the Mole Mitts to enter the cave and follow the path to your right. Keep moving to the ladder at the top-right of the cave. Climb the ladder, then another ladder, then a beanstalk to reach the Piece of Heart.
- (Requirements: All Kinstone Fusions) After completing all of the Kinstone Fusions, visit Librari in a small hole near the Wind Crest at Lake Hylia. Speak with him and he will give you a Heart Container.
Lon Lon Ranch
- (Requirements: Pegasus Boots) Dash into a tree located in the ranch’s northwest sector to reveal a Minish Portal. Shrink down and walk toward the right to find a Minish-sized path. Follow that path to reach the Piece of Heart.
- (Requirements: Mole Mitts, Roc’s Cape) Enter the cave to the north of Lake Hylia. Go toward the left to follow the path, using the Mole Mitts as needed. Keep going until you find an exit that leads you to part of the ranch.
Minish Woods
- Find this Piece of Heart directly south of the Deepwood Shrine’s entrance.
- (Requirements: Cane of Pacci) Starting from the Witch’s Hut, travel to the region’s southwest sector. You’ll find the piece at the end of the path.
- (Requirements: Flippers) You’ll find three Minish-sized caves in the southwest portion of the forest. Enter the one on the left and follow the ice path to find the Piece of Heart.
Minish Village
- Walk to the end of a bridge toward the village’s northwest sector.
Mount Crenel
- (Requirements: Bombs) Explore a cave found in the region’s southwest sector. You can reach the southwest by taking the path starting in the northwest, near Mount Crenel’s Base. Create the cave’s entrance by placing a Bomb next to some cracks in the wall.
- (Requirements: Bombs) Locate two rocks against the wall to the right of the Crenel Wall. Place a Bomb between the rocks to uncover a secret cave.
- (Requirements: Duplication ability) Explore a cave found in the easternmost part of this region. The cave houses Grayblade’s dojo and is directly south of a cave inhabited by a Deku Business Scrub.
- Complete Kinstone Fusion with Melari in the Melari’s Mines to make a beanstalk grow on the mountain’s summit.
- (Requirements: Mole Mitts) Climb the Crenel Wall, then climb down a ladder to the left. At the bottom, use the Mole Mitts to explore a sand cave.
North Hyrule Field
- (Requirements: Bombs) Use a Bomb to destroy a block near the castle’s entrance. Enter the cave that was hidden under the block.
Palace Of Winds
- Locate a row of pushable blocks in the upper-right corner of the main room’s fourth floor. Push them to the right to make them fall out of the way, then use the Roc’s Cape to cross over the opening. Follow the path that leads north until you reach the Piece of Heart.
Royal Valley
- (Requirements: Duplication ability) Push on a tombstone in the northwest portion of the graveyard to find a secret cavern.
South Hyrule Field
- Complete a Kinstone Fusion with Hurdy-Gurdy Man in Hyrule Town to reveal a secret entrance in a tree.
- (Requirements: Flippers, Pegasus Boots) Run into a tree in the region’s southwest sector to uncover a Minish Portal. Shrink down, dive into the river, and swim up and to the right to find a small cave entrance. Enter the cave and swim across the water to find the piece.
Veil Falls
- (Requirements: Cane of Pacci) Use the Cane of Pacci to fill the hole found in the northwest part of Lon Lon Ranch. Follow these directions: Jump down. Go north to the Veil Falls. Go east. Go downstairs. Go east.
- (Requirements: Flippers) Swim to the center of North Hyrule Field’s northeast sector.
- (Requirements: Flippers, Kinstone Fusion) Perform a Kinstone Fusion with a Forest Minish in the Northeast corner of Minish Village. The fusion will reveal a secret cave entrance near the bottom of the falls.
- Requirements: Kinstone Fusion) Perform a Kinstone Fusion with Gale near the Cloud Tops entrance to reveal a secret cave entrance near the top of the Veil Falls.
Western Wood
- Complete Kinstone Fusion with a Forest Minish in a Minish House near the Wind Crest to reveal a secret entrance in a tree. The tree is in the region’s center.
Wind Ruins
- Use the tree stump to the right of the Fortress of Winds’ entrance to shrink down. Head west, then climb down two vines in a row. After the second vine, you will find three more. Climb down the one in the middle to reach a cave entrance. Follow the cave’s path to find the piece.
