Zelda News Switch Icons and More

Hey, Zelda fans! We’re at the start of a new week, which means it’s time for another episode of our Zelda News series. This week’s installment has gone live on YouTube, where Amanda talks about some highlights from the past seven days, including the debut of Breath of the Wild icons on Switch Online. You can watch the full video below:

A new album titled “Trio of the Goddesses” by The Laurence Manning Trio released on June 9, 2022, and features 17 arrangements of iconic tracks from across the Zelda series. Each performance is a reimagining of classic songs, with a nice blend of instruments to give them a unique style compared to the source material. The selection of music is quite varied as well, there are tracks such as Termina Field, The Great Sea, Midna’s Lament, Saria’s Song, and more.

If you want to know more about the album’s creation, then you can check out our interview with The Laurence Manning Trio, where Zelda Universe’s Zac Pricener explores the group’s history with music and the Zelda series.

Finally, a new trailer debuted for an indie game called The Plucky Squire, a Zelda-like game with a very cute art style. The game transitions from 2D to 3D in the trailer, which is honestly mind-blowing, so it will be interesting to see more in the future. At the moment, a release date has yet to be given, but the game will be available on Nintendo Switch when it launches.
