One of the rarest Zelda items in existence belongs only to the most aggressive and passionate collectors. This extremely rare item was a Nintendo Power reward back in 2001 and there is only a single known collector who has one. The golden item is as rare as they come and I only own it in my dreams. The item in question is the custom Jackson Zoraxe guitar modeled by Dan Lawerence!

The rare Zoraxe guitar is designed after the Guitar of Waves that Mikau played in Majora’s Mask. It has seven strings and is a slimy green color with a fish mouth design. If you have the authentic guitar (because we have to assume there were unauthorized copies sold), it features an autograph from the creator of it, Dan Lawerence. It’s pretty unbelievable that this guitar was part of a Nintendo Power sweepstakes!

One listing for this guitar on Reverb created six years ago (2015/2016), was sold for a whopping $9,000! Though six years was a while ago, it’s still surprising to find it being sold so recently. This gives me hope that one day in the future, it’ll become available again and I’ll be able to nab it.
It’s funny how the rarest Zelda instrument is a guitar, since so many games in the series feature ocarinas or flutes. If you love the idea of this guitar but aren’t much of a collector, don’t worry, you could always buy some Zelda themed ocarinas! Ocarina of Time replicas could be easily found along with other Zelda inspired ocarinas.
