Skull Kid has always been an enigma that has fascinated and terrified players since his first major appearance in Majora’s Mask. His motivations were always murky, but you could feel the melancholy that he felt while being controlled by the mask. Instagram artist miserable.beasts was able to capture all of that with their newest puppet.
The puppet is fully articulated and can be posed in any way. The head even moves! miserable.beasts’ attention to detail on this piece is absolutely stunning. It actually looks like Skull Kid is made of wood and like his clothes were made from whatever he could find in the forest. The second picture above shows Skull Kid contemplating Majora’s Mask. The level of detail on his face shows the hesitancy he feels about wearing the mask.
You can check out all sorts of miserable.beasts’ puppetry on their Instagram including, well, other kinds of miserable beasts from many different properties like Labyrinth and Back to the Future.
