If you’re anything like me, many of the dishes that Link cooks in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild have inspired you to attempt them at home. I’ve succeeded to some extent more often than not, with excellent renditions of such fine dining as Meat Curry, Prime Poultry Curry, Vegetable Curry (look, I really like curry), and also Pumpkin Stew. I’ve also failed miserably, so please never ask me what I tried to substitute Voltfruit with for my botched Creamy Heart Soup.
I’m willing to bet Hannah Williams would have aced that Creamy Heart Soup. For the unfamiliar, Hannah’s a popular YouTuber whose cooking prowess far exceeds her humble demeanor. And, for her latest magic trick, she’s somehow survived a hot day outside made all the hotter courtesy of a massive wok atop an open flame. The going gets tough, but the chef’s courage shines through. Her wisdom perseveres. Her power to withstand the elements is admirable. I’m resorting to terrible jokes here, so let me get out of your way and you can witness Mrs. Williams’ scrumptious machinations for yourself.
Holy moly, right? That is some seriously delicious-looking mushroom risotto. Or rather, Mushroom Risotto, since this is an official in-game dish and it warrants capitalization. Staring at that melted medley of shroom, grain, and generous cheese, I’m inclined to say this dish justifies its capitalization for several reasons.
For plenty of tasty post-apocalyptic Hyrulean recipes, look no further than The Unofficial Legend of Zelda Cookbook, a hefty tome chock-full of more Zelda-themed treats than you’ll know what to do with. (Seriously, it’s exhaustive.)
