Zelda News: Fan-Made “Paper Zelda” Trailer & More!

In this Week’s episode of Zelda News, Amanda gives us details on some amazing creativity from the Zelda community, including a fan made trailer for a dream Zelda game that many fans have been begging for since Miyamoto and Aonuma’s joke and possible tease during an interview about New Zelda games coming after Breath of the Wild.

Starting off with the good news! Amanda brings shows us how amazing and creative the Zelda community can be. Reddit user, VaynMaanen, gives us a tease for the cross over that many Nintendo fans want. Forget about Hyrule Warriors and Cadence of Hyrule, this A Link to the Past recreation on his Animal Crossing: New Horizons island is perfect!

Second, 64 Bits has created a fan-made trailer for the dream Paper Zelda game that many fans have been begging for and Aonuma has actually teased. During an interview for Breath of the Wild’s release, Game Informer asked Aonuma and Miyamoto about Paper Zelda. Aonuma shows off his shirt of 8 bit Link and jokes, saying “Paper Zelda will not be coming out today.” Game Informer replies “So, you’re saying theirs a chance!”. Aonuma nods his head while saying “Okay, we’re working on it.” and Miyamoto strikes a pose of what Paper Link would look like and smiles.

Obviously, this can all be taken as a joke, but Aonuma and Miyamoto have been known to joke about or tease upcoming or unannounced Zelda games, especially when teasing before Majora’s Mask 3D’s official announcement. Aonuma would go on to confirm that they were working on a new 2D Zelda game and they wanted to evolve what people think of 2D Zelda games. While this could be taken in many ways, it could also be taken as a slight hint for a Paper Zelda. What could evolve the way fans think of 2D Zelda more than releasing Paper Zelda?

While we may not be getting an official Paper Zelda, 64 Bit’s fan-made trailer will bring wonder and amazement to the minds of the many fans who enjoyed Miyamoto and Aonuma’s Paper Zelda tease.

Finally, Amanda ends with a bit of sad news for those looking to purchase a new Switch. We have a huge shortage causing prices to almost double on second-hand markets.
