Zelda creator and Nintendo legend Shigeru Miyamoto has long been distanced from the direct development aspect of most games, but he is in no way out of the game completely. In a recent interview with Famitsu (translated by Twitter user Oni Dino for Nintendo Everything), Miyamoto discussed the specifics of his involvement with game development, including new Zelda installments.

“I work very thoroughly with the staff on the user-friendliness and player sense aspects. This happened on [‘Breath of the Wild’] too,” he told Famitsu. “Although I leave everything up to them afterward, there isn’t any kind of gap between the developers and me, so they know they can always reach out and I’ll help them with things.”

Knowing this, it is likely that Miyamoto also has his hand in the development of Breath of the Wild’s sequel, though little is known about it at this point. The translated interview can be found here.
