Following an unexpected delay, Sam Dillard of Samo Studios recently announced that Zelda Cinematica, an orchestral album based on The Legend of Zelda series, is officially set for public release tomorrow, September 25. Download links for the album have already been sent out to Kickstarter supporters.
“Zelda Cinematica” is described by Dillard as “an epic re-telling of the music set as a film score to the Zelda movie of our imagination,” and has been in production for the past two years. It spans the entire history of Zelda and pulls tunes from many of our favorite titles, from the original adventure to Breath of the Wild. The Adventure of Link, Majora’s Mask, The Wind Waker, Twilight Princess and Link’s Awakening are among those getting the orchestral treatment, and collectible CDs and vinyls are also in the works if you’re into that sort of thing.
Dillard has previously released other similar cinematic albums based on Metroid and Chrono Trigger, and has created original compositions based on various TV shows and movies. Zelda Cinematica is now up for preorder, and samples can be found on the Samo Studios website.
