The Minish Cap is one of my top five favorite Zelda games, and one of the manga I’ve been most looking forward to seeing put into the Legendary Edition format.
Now that wait is nearly over! The front and back cover of the fourth Legendary Edition has been revealed. This volume collects both The Minish Cap and Phantom Hourglass together in a larger format, with more colored pages and a uniform look shared across all of the Legendary Editions’ covers.
And in case you’re not familiar with either manga, here’s the official synopsis:
“Link must defeat evil at every turn in his perilous quest to help Princess Zelda!
“The Legend of Zelda: Legendary Edition contains two volumes of the beloved The Legend of Zelda manga series, presented in a deluxe format featuring new covers and color art pieces by Akira Himekawa.
“The battle for Hyrule and the Sacred Realm has begun! A young boy named Link must defeat evil on his long, perilous quest to find the spiritual stones that hold the key to the Triforce, and deliver them to Zelda, princess of the land of Hyrule.
“As a hero and a knight of the realm, it is Link’s duty to serve Princess Zelda and protect the land of Hyrule. Dangers come in all forms on both land and sea. Join Link on quests to overcome the threats posed by the Minish Cap and unlock the secrets of the Phantom Hourglass.”
New readers should note that while these manga largely follow their respective game’s story, new plot details — while not technically canon — offer a fresh take on the tales you may have played through a hundred times over. They’re definitely worth a look, and offer an affordable addition to your Zelda collection.
