Oddity of time: JWittz discusses paradoxes in the Zelda series

If you’re a Pokemon fan, you may have heard of YouTube user TheJWittz. Renowned for his Pokemon facts, Top 10s, Let’s Plays and more, this year he has decided to expand his channel with a focus on Nintendo videos. It was thanks to this wise move that, to my pleasant surprise, I recently saw this “Fact of the Day” on Zelda appear in my YouTube subscription feed.

The video delves into the odd time paradoxes present in a number of Zelda games: learning the Song of Storms in Ocarina of Time; the inconsistencies in Majora’s Mask‘s three-day time loop; trading the Goron Vase in Oracle of Ages; Link’s predestined fate in Skyward Sword; and more.

The video sheds light in great detail of aspects of the Zelda series I hadn’t even considered before. It’s fascinating stuff, and it’s sure to open the floodgates for some intense theory discussion. Stick around for the end of the video, too, for a chance to win a copy of Hyrule Historia!
