So, undoubtedly, as everybody’s favourite columnist I’ve upset quite a few people by disappearing suddenly, but have no fear, because I am back with a brand spanking new Music Monday! Over the past two weeks I have been mass-cleaning my house, and getting it painted, so with a lot of (vaguely) free time on my hands I cracked open one of my favourite Zelda games, and restarted one of the most loathed video games in the Zelda franchise: The Phantom Hourglass. I still to this day find it hard to understand why people seem to dislike Phantom Hourglass, but that’s a whole other topic, and today, we shine the Music Monday spotlight of awesomeness on Phantom Hourglass’s music!
Regardless of how you feel about Phantom Hourglass, it’s music is pretty darn great. I have two awesome remixes from Phantom Hourglass to share with all of you! The first is a triple threat, a remix of both “Oshus’s Theme”, “The Ocean King’s Theme” and the “Ocean Theme” that plays in Wind Waker! Second, a short, but sweet remix of “Linebeck’s Theme” that was remixed into a fantastic 8-bit NES styled song! To hear both of those, hit the jump!
A phenomenal remix by YouTube’s HylianLemon, and one of my favourite Zelda remixes on the internet. Sadly, this video hasn’t received much love, even after being released two years ago, so I would totally advise you check it out, and if you have a YouTube account, leave a comment!
Next up, a nostalgic remix of “Linebeck’s Theme”!
I am a huge fan of music that is de-vamped into 8-bit, having grown up with mostly 8-bit music on Gameboy Colour, and this is a welcome edition to my collection of 8-bit favourites! This is a fairly recent video, being uploaded the past January, and I really like it!
Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you all next week for another Music Monday!
