Another mailbag has been uploaded on the ZeldaUniverse Youtube channel. This time, however, it features Cody, Jason, and ChrisCrossMedia, all at E3.
Hit the break to see it.

Only 4 questions….and 1000 Awesomes
There's no good reason to not give him a voice? Honestly? How about the fact that they want to put the players thoughts and experiences into Link. Giving Link lines and voice acting would be extremely stupid actually.
Cody says that Link is his own character now and has been since OoT. The player doesn't put their own thoughts into Link anymore because Link has his own reactions on screen and is obviously not simply a "link" between game and player anymore, he's his own character.
Cody's words, not mine. do I agree with Cody? Maybe somewhat, but that's not the point of this comment, it's just that Cody has a counter reason for this particular "Link-should-not-talk excuse.
Aye, but he really truly is still a Link between the player and the game. If he didn't react or move in the cutscenes we would have a hard time believing he was even alive. These reactions are more of a humanizing feature, and they really don't add or subtract to some overarching "attitude" of Link's, because his attitude, in fact, differs greatly from player to player. Playing the opposing argument off as simply "nostalgic value" is simply wrong.
Giving the main character lines worked in Luigi's Mansion, why can't it work in Zelda?
This reminds me of that one time when I was forced to wear a toilet seat around my neck for a week. Everyone was constantly laughing at me, but I enjoyed it.
I should lose more bets.
So what if this is a Zelda fansite? Did he (I'm assuming Meerkat is a he) do anything wrong? No. So piss off and let the man talk.
And I suppose YOU have better things to do in you spare time? Like hanging around a fan website about video games? 😛
I'm not sure if anyone has already mentioned this or not, but the name Phi (as in the Skyward Sword spirit's name) is a letter in the Greek alphabet. In mathematics, it refers to the “divine ratio”, 1.618, or (1+√5) /2 , “the most beautiful number”. It occurs often in nature and is symbolized by this symbol: Φ. It also is deeply rooted in the sacred feminine and mother nature, which ancient pagans worshiped. If Nintendo did mean for this to be a reference to the Greek letter, than that would suggest that she (Phi) is divine in some way, similar to the “Sacred Feminine” the letter symbolizes. Perhaps when Debb- I mean, Lord Girahim, mentioned the servant of the Goddess he was talking about Phi. Also it's been mentioned that Phi seems computer-like, maybe a reference to the numerical aspect of Φ. What are your thoughts Jason?
Plus people have mentioned that SS seems to be Greek themed. 🙂
on a side note, that's also the origin of Magic: the gathering's Phyrexian faction and mana symbol.
At 17:33 Jason that was classic and at 17:50 Cody use Wing strike of death, it's very effective.
Jason's chair used revive on Jason. 🙂
Cody kept pointing at me, no matter where I stood!
How does Ghoma in the Wind Waker get into the boss room without making a large hole in the side of the dungeon? I choose Ghoma specifically because it is a parasite that could not have always been there and I need to choose the one from WW because the Ghoma in OoT did make a hole and the dungeon is the result.
Also in OoT, how does Ghoma put doors in her burrow?
Link does talk in Zelda two in the water town of saria in the house with the mirror he says "i found a mirror under the table. and in wind waker sometimes he calls to things such as statues and yells cmon!
