Watch the full video for more Japanese symbols!

That’s right. Hot out of the Japanese bakery are four minute-long slices of hot Ocarina of Time 3DS pie. This time, one of our members on the Zelda Universe Forums, ItsZant made a thread (UPDATE: now merged with the Official ZU OoT3DS thread)ย ย on the board bringing ourย attention to it.

For four minutes, one invariably attractive Japanese woman plays and talks (in Japanese) about the game with a young man – with what appears to be a decapitated fox on his head – as her backseat player. The gameplay footage is a bit sparse, but heck, we’ll take anything at this point. Follow the jump to see the video.

Am I the only one that put this in "Submit News"?

    • JordanChi

You very well may have, I just checked the forums today before I checked the submitted news emails.

    • Not first comment

      First! Last! Second! Farth! Turd!

Doesn't matter if you submitted; you are a ditzbag.

      Ooh, ooh! Not First Comment!

  • EvergreenTerrace420

WOW!! This looks amazing, I can not wait for this game!

  • LegendOfHyrule31

Did anybody notice today is the 10 year anniversary of the PS2 too?

    • JordanChi

only in the United States, but yes.

    • Yeah 10th anniversary of the worst gaming console, and the copy cats of Nintendo (PS move) I don't even know why your on this site if you respect Nintendo's worst rival.

      • Keith

dude, I love Nintendo but come on…the ps2 owned the competition. You claim to like Nintendo, which is awesome but you sound fanboyish. :/ So a person can only like ONE company? sheesh.

      • Rohan

I also have to admit that the PS2 library of games was simply put, astounding. Just because you never owned one (or maybe you did but still hate it for reasons I can't explain) doesn't mean you need to call it "the worst gaming console". There's a reason it's the most sold console ever and STILL gets games made for it, it's just a great console.

        • Chosen_ Hero

Not the best selling console any more and the games that are made or it now suck but apart from that it was a good console

          • Rohan

Not the best selling console anymore? The PS2 has sold 145.4 million units, the second most sold being the DS clocking in at 132 million. The next most sold home console was the PlayStation, and then the Wii, so I'm not quite sure what you're talking about.
Unless you meant it's not the best selling console TODAY, which is pretty obvious, I mean, it's ten years old ๐Ÿ˜›

          • koipen

Well I guess I should say hooray. It is admittedly a huge console that had astounding selection.

      • JordanChi

you must not be a fan of good video games.

      • Twilit mask of time

While there are lots of things I DON'T like about the ps2, for instance I have never been a fan of the control. The thing just feels bizarre to me, however I do acknowledge the great array of games it had and its wide appeal and impact. Sony may not be original, but the ps2 was quality system.

        • I agree. The PS2 was a great system. Completely owned the gamecube anyway. It was the last system I had before I got a wii. There are plenty of good PS2 games out there that it is a solid system. And I'm not taking a side either way. Sony and Nintendo are both great, even if sometimes Nintendo is better… like right now xD

          • Keimori

I like the Ps2 , but while i'm not one to take sides anymore, (i feel all systems have their own merrit) the one thing i don't like about the Ps sytems is tha absolutely unessisary need to use difernt symbols on the buttons, expesialy since most gamers have been trained to reconize letters as buttons (ie. A,B,X,Y) its silly to hace, square, cyrcle, triangle, X. just to be differnt.
while Its not inhibiting, it is a bit of a peeve i've always had.. XP

that aside, am I the onlyone that finds it ironic that this PS talk is mor promient thatn the topic at hand? (OoT 3DS, which is looking AWESOME!)

          • QueenxLink

I will always like Nintendo much better than any other gaming company, but I will never say that Sony sucks. It has some pretty good consoles and games!

      • Ashmic

hey lets calm down, PS2 was decent, we don't need to bash it because its not nintendo…. besides it had some of the best games , Silent hill 2? and Rule of Rose, my life wuld be incomplete without them (and zelda)
and who cares if they're rivles, thats like saying you hate pepsi because its cokes rival (i meant, saying that, if you like pepsi and coke)
anyways… In any gaming system there has to be a few gems (rupees XD) out their and we shouldn't bash the system because you didn't like it,
Alas it is your opinion, but it seems to me you are just bashing it because its nintendo's rival?

      • QueenxLink

Uh excuse me, but I happen to really like PS2. It had some of the best games around.

  • Awesome links running looks so much smoother and the game play looks easier to cooperate with.

  • Phantom7

HOLY CRAP. That is all that need be said.

  • Jared!!

    I'm so excited!
    It looked so smooth too.
nNd that house with treasures looked so good also.
It looks like they're not 3D rendered anymore.

  • Toonie

WOW, that is sooo awesome! We can only hope that they will use this technology to create a new 3d Zelda title!

  • ItsZant

    No problem Guys.

  • Aeolus

sugoi sugoi SUGOI!!! hahaha. The game looks amazing!!! Even though it seems we are getting an exact copy of the original game… (i mean the layout and content…)

  • ChainofTermina

OMIGOD!!!! everything looks so smooth and awesome! Link looks AMAZING!! but I couldn't see Saria, the 3D got in the way and I just saw two transparent Sarias…..

    • Gerudude

this means 3d goggles will be required. I thought the 3ds would be sd without need of a pair of 3d glasses like u would use in the cinema.

      • Ashmic

Nintendo said that You will not need 3d glasses, and the ppl in the video weren't wearing them?

      • twilian

I think the cameraperson was just standing at the wrong angle. Wasn't it said that you need to be facing the front of the 3DS to see the 3D effects properly?

      • Aethelbert

The person holding the camera was at a wrong angle, and also even if the camera was facing straight, you wouldn't see the 3D effect

        • ChainofTermina

yes, that's right. the 3D doesn't show up over camera. it only happens when you physically a have a 3DS in your hand. if it's a video, then no it's not gonna be 3D.

          • Squiggy

Correct. The 3D of the 3DS works by sending two separate images, one for each eye. There is, so to speak, a filter that blocks one eye from seeing one image and the other eye from seeing the second image. This tricks your brain into putting the two images together into a single, three-dimensional image.

In short, the 3DS requires your own eyes for the 3D effect to work.

          • ChainofTermina

exactly, that's what I meant. you need a physical, face-to-face 3DS to see the 3D

It's a handheld system man, they can't make the screen too big or it defeats the purpose. Would you rather they make it as big as a laptop?

    • Ashmic

Well some people have bad eyes, or the screens irratate their eyes, So yes, it would be beneficial to have a big screen, I understand it is a handheld, but not everyone can play them and thus OoT and zelda fans have to miss out on another great game

  • CasualVader

Looking awesome! Can't wait for this to come out! I do wish we could get more straight gameplay video instead of this. Like the article says though, I'll take what I can get.

  • KingOfHeart

    I noticed three things.
    1. 3ds recording really doesn't work well.
    2. The camera man looks like he has a thing for that chick.
    3. Wonder what funk you means in English ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • mario_master

in all truth yes Sony does have a habit of copying off nintendo. hey i played the PS2 and it is a good console. but this is a ZELDA fan site discuss this somewhere else

  • NobleRath

Wow. Though we didn't get to see as much as I had hoped, this is a nice glimpse. It does look like the graphics have been rendered rather nicely, and the game seems to be a lot smoother. Sadly… Not sure if I'll be able to get it when it comes out ๐Ÿ™ I'll get it eventually though ๐Ÿ˜€

  • wayofthesheikah

Welcome back to Kokiri Forest friends, it's been far too long.

Wow, the graphics are freaking amazing! Also like how smooth the subscreens on the bottom screen can be navigated now, it'll make selecting items and equipping tunics, swords, shields, etc. a lot easier. Can't say enough about how stunning Kokiri Forest looks overall though.

I admit, I'm a bit disappointed that the music wasn't redone even though I love the N64 OST as much as anyone. But hey, I'll take what I can get. Who knows though, Nintendo just might have some surprises for us when this is finally released.

    • Shadowknight1

Typically, physical design of a game, gameplay mechanics, layout and design, and graphics usually are completed first, then the sounds and music are added. That's why generally in early demos(like this one), the music and sounds might be different than the final product. I won't complain either way though. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • LoZisSo69

0:43 love how the girl said Link is so cute ๐Ÿ˜€

  • LoZisSo69

Did anyone notice that the guy beside the girl is wearing a shirt that says "funk you"? lol

    • lunti

      That aint a girl…

  • Ulises

Did anyone noticed that the rolling stone went backwards after hitting Link? In the original game it used to just go through him, following the same direction.

I wonder how much of the original game they change, and I really hope they didn't make it easier.

    • Link-182

Its probably because it looked dumb when the boulder went through him as if he didn't exist in the N64 version. Now it has better collision detection?
I dunno if that's what you'd call it but it makes sense for them to do that. I hope they add actual content instead of just small changes. I really do!

  • LinebeckTheLemonhead

    Link looks so good!!!! XDD

  • triforceguy1(Leon)

Wow, you really can tell the difference in the graphics when you see it in action, the only thing other than battery life I'm worried about is the 3DS looks a bit cheaply made, although it may just be the finger marks

    Anyway, Good Find ๐Ÿ˜€

  • zeldarules

    Wow, that looks so good!

  • Google Says

HOOOOOLY crap that looks amazing! >:o

  • Reapus

I got less of the great gameplay of OoT and more of the annoying talking. But the bits I have seen of the gameplay look amazing. The graphics are beyond good.

  • Noman

Yes! The Legend of Neil roxs! Which reminds me, shouldn't it be out today??? Yes! It should! This is when they feature it! I remember from the last article about it on ZU!

  • Gerudude

It seems 3d glasses will be required to play this game and meet the 3d effect.
The graphics look like what you would see at the movie theatre when they run a 3d movie. Which requires the 3d goggles.
I thought the idea with 3ds was to create 3d enviroment without the use of such glasses.

    • Link-182

Uuh, they can see the 3D effect just fine because they have two eyes. A camera has one eye so it detects the blur effect. Your not watching it through a 3D computer screen and the video isn't in 3D format, so it won't show the 3D.
When you actually play it it will be in 3D.

  • Ashmic

I saw saria for a second, ………………. on a really small screen, but it still was cute!

  • Ashmic

you always make me lol XD

    • Joko tree

Why thank you I love to make people lol.

  • Bob

Whoa holy sh*t that looks smooth! Yay no more pre rendered areas! I'll miss them for some reason though. Maybe we'll get a MM remake too, after all, it is 10 years old.

  • Oma Els

    That looks amazing! Simply amazing!

  • Jonathan

THIS. IS. GONNA. BE. EPIC!!! Nintendo… you've won my heart all over again. <3 I've already been a fanboy for years by buying every Nintendo console, but this game is renewing the very reason I loved Nintendo in the first place.

Pause at 2:12 when it shows Link's equipment. This shows that Link's boots are now selectable items (as indicated by the fact that they are missing from the right side of the screen). The area below the swords, shields, and tunics, are for the items shown in the left of here, most likely:

The area to the left shows the 6 medallions around the triforce symbol (still not sure if that infamous triforce quest may be in the game), the 3 spirtual stones, and to the left of those is the area for the Ocarina (I'm guessing). There is something else to the top-left corner that seems like a Heart (may be for the Ocarina/Songs). I'm making the assumption that the Gold Skulltulas are the rectangle, and the two other squares to the left of that are the two other various items included from before on top of the Gold Skulltulas from the original OoT on the Quest Status sub-screen.

I'd like to point out that there are extra slots in the Items sub-screen as well (meaning any extra content added in may consist of even newer items).

Another thing I'd like to point out is the Map sub-screen because it seems the curves of the white patches go a broader range than the normal OoT 64 map did. I'm not sure if that means anything, obviously, but it could possibly be an indication of new places you can visit. Well… I'll just hope for the best on those two parts I guess. Haha! XD

Even if the game was exactly the same as OoT and didn't include anything newer than the updated graphics, controls, etc., I would still absolutely fall in love with this game. Seeing Link's model running, his hood flowing in the wind, his facial expressions, and everything else just makes it all the worthwhile to watch this video back-to-back for the next hour of my life. It just looks so fluid, and it seems to be running near 50-60 fps. :3

I LOVE YOU NINTENDO!!! I can't even describe in words how thankful I am to see how much they really worked on making this game ABSOLUTELY beautiful! It's a dream come true! <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

awesome 10 out of 10 man this is the best thing ever and the water temple won't be a pain any more but imagine how the master sword looks like any guesses?

    • Joko tree

The Master Sword will look like the Master Sword or a 3D Master Sword.Dude you knew someone was going to make a joke out of that.

ok jezzzz the Sony currently would be the best game makers **BUT** they had a little problem along time agothat made them pull back, leaving only Nintendo and Microsoft. Which pretty much made Nintendo the best, and when sony came back nintendo was far ahead and they never caught up

  • LoveZeldaMost

I have a 3DS and I can tell you ITS AWESOME

    • Joko tree

    • TrustMe101

Dude, it's not even out yet…

  • Gamma

From what I've seen, it seems that Nintendo is actually trying to make the updates good. Kokiri Forest and what we've seen of Hyrule Field look incredible (and in one picture of Adult Link on Epona in Hyrule Field, it looks like they're getting rid of the cardboard-like backdrops for DM and HCT). As someone said above, I can't wait to see how they're going to update the Shadow Temple and the Bottom of the Well. I'm also interested in what they're going to do with Twinrova and Dead Hand.

  • TrustMe101

Man this looks awesome! I won't buy it, the 3DS is out of my price range, but I'll probably borrow it from someone or just watch the whole game on YouTube. xD

    • Shadowknight1

Or wait until the prices drop? ๐Ÿ˜‰
