PAL-region fans finally get the chance to play a classic Zelda game on the Wii…
Wii owners in America and Japan have already had A Link to the Past available since as early as last December, but now European and Australian fans finally get to join the fun! A Link to the Past is now available on the Virtual Console in those countries, and can be purchased for 800 Wii Points.
A Link to the Past, the third game of the Zelda series, is without a doubt one of the most classic games of all times. It features a wonderful level setup, with plenty of challenging levels, intense boss battles, and many useful weapons that have been seen time and time again in Zelda games since. If you haven’t played this game for some absurd reason, you HAVE to give it a shot. And at a price like this, how can you refuse?
Unfortunately, the Wii version of A Link to the Past doesn’t include Four Swords, the oft-neglected multiplayer mode that was released on the Game Boy Advance with ALttP in 2002. Many people were unable to take full advantage of that game’s multiplayer mode because it required four different people to be present in one spot at the same time, but if Four Swords was released with online capabilities for the Virtual Console, I’m sure it would be an immense hit. *hint hint, Nintendo*
Well, either way, A Link to the Past is one of my favorite Zelda games of all time, and if you haven’t played it already, you need to get to your Wii and empty a few of those Wii Points off of your card.
