The Wind Waker

Chapter 21 – Triforce Shard 6: The Savage Labyrinth

by on January 26, 2021

Note: In The Wind Waker HD the Triforce Shard is found in the Savage Labyrinth. In the original game you will have to get a Triforce Chart deciphered and fish it up from the ocean floor near Southern Triangle Island.

The Savage Labyrinth is a multilayered cave system hidden underneath Outset Island. There is a huge amount of combat involved in getting this Triforce Shard, so it would help to bring some healing potions.

Climb to the top of the eastern half of Outset Island. Stand on the highest rock and glide across to the other side of the demolished bridge. Make sure that the wind is blowing in a favorable direction.

Cut the grass to replenish your Magic Meter. Stand to the right of the entrance to the forest. Change the wind direction so that it’s blowing toward the giant stone head on the cliff above your house. Glide all the way to the cliff. Lifting the rock requires the Power Bracelets and reveals the entrance to the Savage Labyrinth.

There is an opportunity to catch some Fairies in Empty Bottles before you enter the Labyrinth. Enemies in here will not drop any pickups, including Hearts. You cannot quit the challenge either.

Each floor contains a set configuration of enemies. Defeat them all to move on to the level below. Every tenth room is a rest stop, where you can replenish some Hearts and choose to leave or continue.

  • 1st floor – Keese
  • 2nd floor – Miniblins (if the exit does not open, there are still Miniblins left)

You can go deeper into the Savage Labyrinth for further rewards if you are prepared. A sparkling beam of light will take you back to the entrance if you are finished.

In The Wind Waker you will need to go to Tingle Island to get the Triforce Chart deciphered for 398 Rupees (see chapter 16 for more information).
