Chapter 19: Triforce Shard 4: The Ghost Ship
Note: In The Wind Waker HD the Triforce Shard is found on the Ghost Ship. In the original game you will have to get a Triforce Chart deciphered and fish it up from the ocean floor near Outset Island.
You may have heard the legend of the Ghost Ship during your travels. You may even have seen it, in which case you’ll know that it disappears when you get too close. Fortunately there is a way to get onboard.
Sail to Diamond Steppe Island, one square northwest of Outset Island.
Use the Hookshot to reach the highest point on Diamond Steppe Island. Find the hole in the ground and jump inside. Climb into the cauldron in front of you to teleport to another part of the cave.
There are several cauldrons here, but most of them return you to the entrance. When you first enter this section, look for the cauldron on your right. This is correct one. Burn or Bomb the wooden covering to gain access.
Leaving the coverings on the other cauldrons untouched makes it easier to remember which ones you should be using.
The cauldron behind the first Floormaster leads to a Joy Pendant in a Treasure Chest.
You are given another choice of cauldrons in the next area. The correct cauldron is the one furthest to the right, against the wall.
The final cauldron is past the Floormaster, on the left. Open the Treasure Chest to get the Ghost Ship Chart. Jump into the cauldron to return to the entrance.
Once you are back on the surface, wait for night to fall. With the special chart in your possession, the current location of the Ghost Ship will be marked on your Sea Chart at night. Travel to wherever the Ghost Ship is and sail straight at it.
This is where it gets weird. Next thing you know, you will be standing inside the Ghost Ship. Drop off the ledge but hold back. A Wizzrobe will appear and attempt to summon a monster, like a ReDead. Defeat the Wizzrobe from a distance to avoid alerting the Poes (look for the two lanterns lying on the ground to identify them).
Climb the ladder to find a Treasure Chest (try looking closely at the carved face behind it). Open the Treasure Chest to get either the Triforce Shard or Triforce Chart, depending on which version of the game you are playing. You will wake up back onboard the King of Red Lions. The Ghost Ship will never appear again.
