Obtaining the Ballad of Gales
Before setting off, the King of Red Lions tells you about the Triforce of Courage. Once you have restored power to the Master Sword, your next objective will be to find it.
The first task is to find Cyclos, the brother of Zephos. Massive cyclones can be found in several places: Shark Island, Northern Triangle Island and the Mother and Child Isles. Get too close to one and you will quickly be sucked in and put down somewhere else on the Great Sea. Now, gather your courage and sail into a cyclone.
Take out the Hero’s Bow and try to shoot Cyclos with it. He’s quite high up, but when your arrows find their mark, you’ll know. Keep shooting until Cyclos gives up. Now that he’s calmed down, Cyclos will teach you Ballad of Gales (Down, Right, Left, Up).
Mother and Child Isles
You can teleport to different islands across the Great Sea by using the Ballad of Gales. You can even get inside the high walls on the Mother part of the Mother and Child Isles by using it!
Use Ballad of Gales to teleport to Mother and Child Isles. The interior of the island is the home of the Queen of Fairies. She will give you the ability to use Ice and Fire Arrows.
Fire Mountain
Warp to Dragon Roost Island using the Ballad of Gales. Sail one square south to Fire Mountain. Equip the Hero’s Bow and switch to Ice Arrows. Shoot an Ice Arrow through the pillar of flame to stop the eruption.
Climb up the mountain as quickly as possible. The Ice Arrows will make short work of any Kargaroc that get too close. Jump into the hole at the top of the peak.
Jump across the platforms in the lava to reach the other side. Open the Treasure Chest to obtain the Power Bracelets and stop the timer. Try lifting the giant stone next to you to see how they work. Step into the light to return to the surface.
Headstone Island (First Time)
Warp to Outset Island and sail one square east to Headstone Island. Lift the giant stone and go inside the cave behind it. Take out the Wind Waker and play the notes on the stone slab. This song is called the Earth God’s Lyric.
You will meet the spirit of the last Earth Sage, Laruto. Her instrument resembles the one carried by Medli.
Back to Dragon Roost Island
Warp to Dragon Roost Island. Enter the Rito settlement and take the door next to the sorting desk. Use the Grappling Hook to reach the cliff where Medli is playing her instrument.
Play the Earth God’s Lyric to Medli to awaken her as a Sage. She will join wait onboard the King of Red Lions until you reach Headstone Island.
Headstone Island (Second Time)
Return to Headstone Island and go inside the cave with Medli. Play the Earth God’s Lyric together to remove the stone slab. The two of you will enter the dungeon through a hole in the floor.
