After you purchase the Bug Net from Beedle’s Airshop, you can catch all sorts of bugs on the surface below the clouds that can be used to infuse potions, sell, and collect. You can infuse potions with the bugs you find at the Infusion Shop, right next to Luv’s Potion Shop in the Bazaar. After you meet Levias, Strich will show up on Bug Island in the Thunderhead and you will be able to sell your bugs to him for some decent cash.

Blessed Butterfly
The most commonly found insect in Skyward Sword, the Blessed Butterfly can be found in every region, and will mostly be found in groups. Blessed Butterflies will also indicate the presence of Gossip Stones or Goddess Walls, both of which are activated by playing a note on your Harp while standing near the butterflies.

Deku Hornet
Deku Hornets are vicious little bugs that can be found in the Deep Woods of Faron Woods swarming around their hives in trees. These bugs will attack you if you get close or harm their hive, so you’ll have to be quick to catch them before they do too much damage.

Eldin Roller
A very quick bug that can be found in the Eldin region. They are very quick to scurry away from Link if he gets too close, so you will have to be quick to catch them before they dig into the ground or disappear into the lava.

Faron Grasshopper
These bugs can be found in generally any area throughout the Faron region. Much like normal grasshoppers, they are quick to hop away from Link if he gets too close.

Gerudo Dragonfly
A desert bug that can be found in the Lanayru Region. They will fly away if Link gets too close, so you’ll have to be sneaky to catch one.

- Lanayru Desert

Lanayru Ant
A desert bug that can be found in generally any area throughout the Lanayru region. They are quite slow, making them easy to capture.

Sand Cicada
A desert bug found in the Lanayru region. They are quite quick and are probably one of the hardest bugs to capture as they will quickly fly away if Link ventures too close. You will have to be very quick to catch it.

Sky Stag Beetle
A bug that can only be found in Skyloft, and will normally sit on trees. You will have to be quick to catch them.

A bug that can only be found in Skyloft. They are easy to catch.

Starry Firefly
A glowing bug that can be found in dark places or at locations that are accessible at night. They are easy to find at night and easy to capture.

Volcanic Ladybug
A bug that resides in the volcanic areas of the Eldin region. They don’t move much and are quite easy to capture.

Woodland Rhino Beetle
A beetle that is found in the Deep Woods of the Faron region. You will normally find them perched high up on trees or walls – you can easily knock them down to the ground for capture by rolling into the surface they are clung onto.
