Temple of the Ocean King III
Return to Mercay Island and enter the Temple of the Ocean King.
1st Floor
Run north to the staircase and head down to floor B1.
Basement 1
From the staircase, you will want to head to the northeast corner of the room and blow up the blocks on your left. This gives you to quick access the key at the northwest corner of the floor. Step on the floor switch, run over and grab the small key, and then head for the door at the northeast corner of the floor. This will bring you down to floor B2.
Basement 2
Upon entering the floor wait until the Phantom is facing away from you. Once it is, run south where you will find a cracked wall. Blow it up with a bomb to access a shortcut.
Warning: The Phantoms will sometimes be alerted by the sound of your bombs. If this is the case try and run to the closest safe zone.
From the northeast corner you will need to hit the two switches located nearby. Once you’ve done this a small key will drop from the ceiling. Use the shortcut from before to access the area where the key had fallen. Step on the floor switch, and use your boomerang to grab the small key.
Once you have the small key, run along the southern part of the room and pass over the lowered blue blocks. Hit the switch to your east, which will change the blocks that are lowered. Run now to the west, passing the now lowered red blocks, and unlock the door that leads to floor B3.
Basement 3
Enter the floor and run to the northwest corner of the room until you find a treasure chest containing a Force Gem. You will once again need to obtain all three Force Gems, placing them in their proper stop in the large safe zone on this floor. Return this Force Gem to its proper location.
As for the second Force Gem, you will want to run to the southeast corner of the room. Open the treasure chest and carry the second Force Gem to its location.
From the large safe zone return to the southeast corner of the floor. Here you will find a dig spot just next to a platform. Use your shovel to reveal a wind geyser. Jump on the wind geyser to get on top of the platform. Use the floor switch to trap the Phantom and obtain the small key it was holding. Grab the key and run to the southwest corner of the floor to unlock the door hiding the third Force Gem.
Return the final Force Gem to its proper location and head through the door that is opened. Tap on the Door of Wisdom and with the help of Neri, the Spirit of Wisdom, you will be granted access to the next part of the temple.
Basement 4
A new enemy appears! The Phantom Eye acts as extra eyes for the Phantoms that roam this floor. It’s best to defeat these eyes so they do not slow you down.
Upon entering the room head south along the eastern side of the room until you reach wind blocking your path. Use your boomerang to not only hit the switch on the right side (just beyond the wind) but also to stun the Phantom Eye to your left. After hitting the switch your path will be opened, and now you may slash the Phantom Eye with your sword to defeat it.
Enter the safe zone located at the eastern part of the room and wait for the nearby Phantoms to be heading away from you. Your goal is to reach the northwest corner of the room to defeat the nearby Phantom Eye. Use your boomerang around the corner to stun it and then run over to finish it off. Break the red pot at the northwest corner of the room to create a safe zone.
From this safe zone, you will want to work your way to the next safe zone just south of you. Here you will take out the third and final Phantom Eye.
Once you’ve taken out that third Phantom Eye you will notice a treasure chest appeared. Don’t head for this yet. You will want to head to the southwest corner of the room and locate a dig spot. Use your shovel to uncover a wind geyser. Ride the wind geyser up to the platform and hit the switch. This will cause all of the wind in the room to stop.
Optional Treasure Chest
Run to the eastern safe zone where the treasure chest from before appeared. Open the treasure chest to receive a Power Gem!
From the switch run to the western safe zone and wait until the coast is clear of Phantoms. Head directly east from here where you will find a cracked wall not far from the western safe zone. Blow this up with a bomb and hit the switch inside, causing the spikes on the eastern side of the floor to go down.
Run to where the small key resides on your map, while also being vigilant of any nearby Phantoms. Obtain the small key and run to the locked door located at the southern part of the floor. Open the door and head down to floor B5.
Basement 5
After entering the floor head to the west, being sure to wait until the spikes are down before heading over. Walk all the way to the west and use your boomerang to hit the switch just beyond a set of spikes. Hitting the switch will cause the spikes on the eastern side of the floor to lower. Run to the east to replenish on some much-needed health, time, and bombs!
Walk back to the west and head through the door leading north. Defeat the Yellow ChuChus to continue through the floor. Feel free to break the yellow pot on the west side of the room to gain some extra time.
Enter the next room and defeat the 4 Miniblins awaiting you. After doing so head north through the door where you will see your path is blocked by wind. Use your boomerang to hit the switch on the east side of this hallway, causing the wind to stop. Open the treasure chest that appeared and obtain a Red Potion!
Head down the nearby stairs to enter floor B6.
Basement 6
Upon entering this floor you will want to take out the nearby Phantom Eye. Wait until it is close and stun it with your boomerang. From here, head to the safe zone located at the northeast corner. Here you will notice a stone tablet that states it is the 2nd tablet in the governing crest. Take note of this on your map.
From this safe zone make your way to the far southeast corner of the room where there resides a switch. Slash the switch to cause the spikes blocking the stone tablet to fall. Read the tablet and mark it with a 4 on your map.
Now walk along the southern part of the room, where you will notice two floor switches. Step on the switches (on either side of a larger safe zone located in the center of the room) to stop the wind that is blowing. This will allow you to access the red door. If needed take cover in this safe zone.
Run to the southwest corner of the room to find another stone tablet hidden behind some cracked blocks. Use your bombs to blow the blocks up and read the tablet. Mark your map with a 3.
Finally, run to the northwest corner of the floor to find a dig spot. Use your shovel to uncover the wind geyser. Throw a bomb on the geyser to cause the cracked blocks above to break. Then use the geyser to reach the platform and hit the switch. This will lower the nearby spikes allowing you to read the last stone tablet. Mark this location on your map with a 1.
You should now make your way to the large red door from before. You will not need to, in one stroke, trace the pattern following the order of the stone tablets. Start you stylus at the top left, trace to the top right, then the bottom left, then the bottom right, and finally back to the top left. Make your way through the unlocked door.
Enter the room and walk up to the large sun crest. You are asked to press the crest up to your map. To do this you will have to open your sea chart and select the southwestern quadrant. Then close your DS and reopen it. This will transfer the symbol into your map.
From here exit the temple using the blue warp point and head for Linebeck. Check the mailbox in town before setting sail and you will notice Eddo from Cannon Island has a new ship part for you to use … the Salvage Arm! It is now time to set sail for Cannon Island.
Cannon Island and the Salvage Arm
Set sail for Cannon Island and once you land, head into the building and speak with Eddo. Eddo will give you the Salvage Arm, but only after you show some excitement. Yell or blow into the microphone as hard as you can to purchase the Salvage Arm for the lowest price possible (200 rupees)
Obtain the Salvage Arm and set sail for the green crest in the center of the southwestern quadrant. Once you have reached the crest tap the menu button and select the Salvage Arm.
You will now have to carefully guide the Salvage Arm to the ocean floor to obtain the treasure. Avoid any Octomines that may cross your path. Bring the treasure to the surface and obtain the Sun Key!
