Table of Contents
Astrid the Fortune Teller
Once you’ve docked on the Isle of Ember you will notice three houses on your map. Head to the second house up the stone stairway. Enter the house and you will notice no one is home. Make your way down the stairs and defeat all of the Octorok‘s in the room.
Walk over to the door on the right side of the room. You will see the fortuneteller Astrid behind this door. “Call out” by yelling into your microphone. In order to free Astrid, you will need to find Kayo somewhere on the island. Leave this room and exit the house.
Make your way to the easternmost point of the island to find the bones of a fallen adventurer. The ghost of Kayo will reveal himself to you and task you with finding the location of three torches on the island.
One torch is located on the small island just to the east of where Kayo resides.
The second torch is located in Kayo’s house. This is the southernmost house on the island.
The third and final torch can be found just to the east of the small island at the northern part of your map.
With the location of all three torches marked on your map, head back to Astrid’s house and enter the basement one final time. Walk over to the map located to the right of the door that is trapping Astrid. Tap on the map and mark the location of the island’s three torches. This will cause the door to open, freeing Astrid!
After speaking with Astrid you will now want to head to the Temple of Fire. Exiting Astrid’s house head down the stairs and to the east. Just before the second bridge on the southern part of the island, you will be stopped by Ciela who informs you to enter the door that was originally blocking your way.
Once you’ve opened the door continue following the path that leads west. Defeat any Yellow Chuchu or Tektite‘s that may cross your path. Walk up yet another set of stairs, walking clockwise now around the island to reach the Temple of Fire.
Approach the temple and blow out the two candles on either side of the entrance using your microphone.
Optional Treasure Chest
If you’re looking for some extra rupees continue west past the entrancement to the temple. Walk up the set of stairs and head northwest. You will find a treasure chest containing 20 rupees!
The temple door will open and you may now enter!
Temple of Fire
Once you’ve entered the temple head straight, avoiding the fire in your way. Head clockwise around the spinning rod of fire and walk through the doorway to the east.
In this new room jump across the platforms on the upper part of the room, past the locked door. Once you’ve passed the locked door you will notice a sign on the wall. Copy the path on the sign onto your map as it will useful later.
From the sign, follow the path to the south. Enter the room and defeat the Keese to gain access to the chest that was hidden behind the fire. Open the chest to receive a small key!
Exit the room to the north and approach the sign and locked door you passed by earlier. Unlock the door and follow the path you marked on your map earlier. If you didn’t mark the path on your map, the sign is still located next to the door you just unlocked.
Optional Treasure Chest
As you make your way through the maze there is a treasure chest containing 20 rupees. It is right in your path, so you might as well open it!
At the end of the maze you will find four crystal switches. Stand in the middle of the four switches and perform a spin attack. Be sure to hit all of the switches at the same time. Once you are successful a doorway will be unlocked in the center room.
Backtrack through the maze to the center room and head up the staircase.
Now that you are on the second floor, head east and circle around the center platform until you find a red switch. Hit the switch and continue around the platform again, but now head to the east side of the room, entering the room to the south.
Defeat the Gel‘s located in the room to unlock a treasure chest. Open the chest to obtain the Boomerang!
Using your newly acquired boomerang walk to the east side of the room and hit the crystal switch. This turn of the fire wall and allow you to continue west.
Walk west following the path to the room at the northwest corner of your map. Use your boomerang again to hit the two crystal switches on the other side of the lava. This will extinguish the flames blocking the stairs. Head down the stairs back to the first floor.
Back on the first floor, head east and stop just to the right of the red blocks. Use your boomerang to hit the blue switch in order to lower the blue blocks that were blocking your way to the south.
Entering the room to the south there is an almost identical puzzle on the west side of the room. Use your boomerang again to hit the crystal switch in order to extinguish the flames to your east. This will allow you to have quick access to the dungeon entrance if needed.
After hitting the switch continue south to the southwest room on your map. Defeat the two Bubble‘s by stunning them with your boomerang, and then attacking with your sword once they are no longer engulfed in flames. Once you’ve defeated the two enemies you will unlock another set of stairs to the second floor.
Head up the stairs back to the second floor. You will want to make your way south, avoiding the spinning fire, and pull the two switches. Once you’ve pulled both the door to the north of the room will be unlocked.
Optional Treasure Chest
If you defeat all of the Fire Keese located in this room you will unlock a treasure chest containing 20 rupees!
Enter the newly unlocked door and defeat the Rat using your boomerang. Obtain the key it was holding and head to the southeastern room on the floor.
Hit the switch with your boomerang and then defeat the Octorok in between the red and blue blocks. Use your boomerang again to hit the same switch to gain access to the locked door on the east side of the room.
After unlocking the door and walking up the stairs you will want to head to the southern most portion of this room and locate a sign on the wall. Take note of the numbers on the picture that correlate to the northeast part of your map.
Walk northward again and blow out the candles located at the top of the room. The path to the north will be unlocked and you will now want to stand on the platform in the center of the room. You will need to hit the four switches in the correct order: bottom left, top right, top left, bottom right.
Grab the key that drops from the ceiling with your boomerang and head to the locked door at the southwest part of the room.
Walk through the door and head west. Defeat the two Fire Keese and two Yellow Chuchu and head north. You will find two more Bubbles to defeat in order to extinguish the nearby fire.
Head northward again and step on the switch to light a nearby torch. Use your boomerang to light the other two torches in the room, causing another wall of flames to be extinguished.
You now want to head east but should notice a hole in the floor blocking your path. Use your boomerang again to hit another switch located on the other side of the wall. Avoid the flames and obtain the Boss Key.
Slowly and carefully make your way back to the southernmost part of this floor to unlock the barrier. Walk up the stairs and if you’d like, read the stone tablet on the left to create a warp point.
Enter through the final set of stairs to begin your battle with Blaaz.
During the first part of the battle, Blaaz will be split into three pieces. Look at your map and you will notice each piece of Blaaz has a specific number of horns on its head. Use your boomerang to target the three in order: the one with 1 horn first, the one with 2 horns second, and the one with 3 horns last.
After hitting the three pieces in order Blaaz will merge into one. At this time you can now slash Blaaz with your sword. Blaaz will occasionally teleport around you and eventually begin throwing flaming boulders. Keep slashing until Blaaz breaks up into three pieces again and repeat the process until you are victorious.
Once you’ve defeated Blaaz you will be introduced to Leaf, the Spirit of Power. Finish your conversation and retrieve the Heart Container in the treasure chest before leaving.
