Isle of the Dead

Head for the Northeastern sea and travel the island at the northeast corner of your map, the Isle of the Dead. Once you’ve set foot on the island walk to your east and through the hole in the side of the cliff. When inside walk to the west and exit through the door.

Back outside make your way to the northeast part of the island where a large temple resides. Be careful of the Rupee-Likes and Stalfos that inhabit this area. You can either enter the temple now and follow the correct path (North, East, East, North, North – skip to the end of this section to continue) or discover the correct path on your own by exploring the rest of the island.

To explore the rest of the island head to the southeast corner of the map. From the sacred tree here walk 13 spaces west and north 7 spaces. Dig a hole at this location using your Shovel to locate an underground room.

Optional Treasure Chest

Located in the room you are entering you will find a treasure chest. Open it to obtain another Power Gem!

Use your Bombs to blow up the wall to your north and collect your treasures. The stone tablet in this room will provide you with another hint. Walk back outside and make your way to the king’s eye to the west. Use your Bow to shoot the crystal switch. This will cause a gate to open located at the northwest corner of the island.

Run to the northwest corner and read the gravestones to reveal the correct path forward in the temple. Return to the temple at the northeast corner of the island and walk through going north, then east, east again, north, and north one final time.

Approach the pedestal and talk with the fourth knight, Brant. Open the treasure chest that is located outside and receive the Regal Necklace. This item will now allow you to access the Isle of Ruins. Quickly run back to Linebeck’s ship and set sail for the Isle of Ruins.

Isle of Ruins

Upon landing on the island make your way north and into the cave to face off against the Geozard. Exit the cave and head west. You will need to make your way northwest through this maze by jumping from platform to platform. Eventually, you will make it over to a wooden bridge that leads to the north. Rupee-Lines infest this area, so be careful not to get sucked up.

After crossing the bridge run to the east. Take the set of stairs to the north and traverse through this pathway while avoiding the rolling boulders. Once you’ve reached the end of the path enter the temple located at the end. Here you will find the third knight, Bremeur. Talking with him will open up another pathway elsewhere on the island.

Exit the temple and walk over to the bridge that has been extended for you. Head east until you cross another bridge and reach the northeastern part of the island. From here continue east, jumping over the gaps until you reach another temple at the furthest northeast corner of the island.

Enter the temple and walk down the path until you reach a set of stairs. Carefully make your way west and south until you see a set of stairs to lead you to the second floor. Walk up those stairs and talk to the second knight, Doylan. He will provide you with the King’s Key.

You will now need to take the King’s Key to the temple from before located at the northwest portion of the island. Carefully make your way back taking the northern path. There are a few enemies here that may interrupt you. Take them out with your Sword or Bow and continue on.

Enter the temple and place the King’s Key into its pedestal. This will allow all the water on the island to drain. You can now access the once-submerged portions of this island. Exit the temple and hop down to the lower level that was once filled with water. From here make your way to the eastern portion of the island.

You will need to make your way to the southeast corner of the island, where the final temple resides. Upon heading to the southeast you should see a variety of large boulders blocking your path. Push the first one to the east and walk up the stairs. The second boulder push to your west, causing it to roll down the stairs and break another boulder blocking your path. Make your way west and then south to enter another portion of the island.

From here walk east and push the first boulder you find to your east one push, and then push it south. This will again cause the boulder to roll down a set of stairs, destroying another boulder. Continue southeast until you reach the entrance to the final temple.

Enter the temple and talk to the first knight, Max. He will open the path forward for you once you exit the temple. Once outside run to the east end enter through the door that just opened. Head towards the red door. You will want to draw the symbol based on the puzzle located northwest of Max’s temple (read more below). Trace the following onto the door:

Top Left > Top Right > Bottom Right > Center > Bottom Left > Top Left

If you would like to find this combination on your own travel to the northwest of Max’s temple. Here you will find a steps with a floor switch. Step on that switch to extend a bridge, allowing you to easily access the southwest part of the island. Make your way there and drop to the lowest level where you will find many stone tablets. These tablets contain the solution to bypassing the red door mentioned above.

Once you have opened the red door continue forward and defeat two Geozard. You will now be able to enter Mutoh’s Temple!
