Rota Ooh Shrine – Passing of the Gates

by on May 22, 2018

This Shrine is on the hill above the Outskirts Stable. You can find it in the southwest part of Central Hyrule, not far from the Great Plateau. The trial inside the Shrine involves hitting switches from a distance, so it is almost essential to have a bow and arrows in your inventory. You can usually recover your arrows after hitting switches with them, which saves resources.

Hit the switch on the right to rotate the central gate into the “up” position.

Look on the far left side of the room to find a path leading to a Treasure Chest. Take the Small Key from the Treasure Chest.

Pick up the orb in the middle of the floor and throw it into the metal bucket on the wall.

Get a line of sight to the switch and shoot it again to return the gate to the “down” position. The orb will roll into the socket behind the gate, activating a piston in the floor.

Use the Small Key to unlock the door set inside the central gate.

Shoot the switch again to raise the gate into the “up” position and bring the piston to the front.

Stand on the piston and wait for it to launch you into the air. Draw your bow in mid air and shoot the switch during the slow motion effect. If successful, the gate will rotate underneath you and the way to the Monk will open up nearby.

Talk to the Monk Rota Ooh to collect a Spirit Orb.

Additional Treasure

There is a Treasure Chest on a ledge high up the wall. You can glide to it, but you can get it just as easily with Magnesis. A Feathered Edge sword is inside the Treasure Chest.
