Dunno why I'm just stumbling on this now, but this is germane to my argument in favor of people reconsidering Zelda II's place in history. I actually didn't know this, it's pretty cool to see all the different influences that eventually came together to produce one of the greatest games ever made.

• Any future ganes you excited for ?

Posted by JPineapple

• The new Vampire: The masquerade Bloodlines game that was just announced sounds dope. Others:
Cyberpunk 2077
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Babylon's Fall
Total War: Three Kingdoms
Astral Chain
The Outer Worlds
Doom: Eternal
Biomutant
In the Valley of Gods
Ghost of Tsushima
Mount & Blade 2

Posted by Max N.

• That's a lot of crunchy, hardcore western stuff. I want more japanese games to get excited about right now, especially Nintendo stuff, but that slate looks a little bare right this moment.

Posted by Max N.

• That’s a pretty good list there ! Haha i think I’m most excited for vampire tbh. And I totally get the lack of Japanese interest though Capcom seems to be doing great now

Posted by JPineapple

• Hey Max, you doing ok?

Posted by Guinea

• I'm good!

Am I doming across as particular angry or something lately? Caucuses will do that to me, hah.

Posted by Max N.

• Not at all, I kinda agree with you in all that.

Random question: play any good games lately? I've been on an RPG kick, so I'm switching between Vesperia and Octopath.

Posted by Guinea

• I'm enjoying Infamous: Second Son right now. I started playing it to study for a job application, but I'm going to finish it for my own enjoyment. It's an open world game, pretty comeptently built, has a fun skater punk aesthetic with elemental super powers based on "city" elements: Neon, Smoke, Cement, TV.

It feels kinda similar to Marvel's Spider-Man. Not quite as good as that game, but it was 4 years earlier, and that was was INCREDIBLE, so that's a high bar.

Posted by Max N.

• That reminded me of Jet Set Radio lol

What I wouldn't give for another one of those games...

Posted by Guinea

• Good luck at getting those jobs man!

Posted by JPineapple

• Your post about HMs was so spot on it(and I just started playing Pokémon after god since gen 2?)

Posted by JPineapple

• Thanks! I try! :D

Posted by Max N.

• It’s just funny because of how true it is . I do lot remember having any issues with HM back in the day but as soon as I needed to learn cut during my play of leafgreen.. it wasn’t fun HagA

Posted by JPineapple

• Cut is such a trap. It's actually kind of decent when you first get it, so everyone kinda wants to use it. Then it gets obsolete real fast, but you're stuck with it.

It's the worst.

Posted by Max N.

• Lol so true I was looking at and I’m like wait ...this thing sucks ! Was so annoyed . Once I finish leafgreen I’m going to hit up emerald . Will be fun to see since I’ve literally never played past gen 2

Posted by JPineapple

• Is today one of the best Zelda days in your life now? Haha

Posted by HeroOfTime5

• Hahah
Yeah. It kinda is. I'm excited as hell. Though there's some trepidation, too, in case they fuck it up. I don't love the art style for instance.

Posted by Max N.

• I understand the concern. The anime opening was such a tease!

Did you feel the same way when TWW came out?

Posted by HeroOfTime5

• I did! But I got over it within hours. I was also, like, 12. I understand a lot more about how and why I feel about different art styles now. I explain more here: zeldauniverse.net/forums/Threa…ostID=6330129#post6330129

Posted by Max N.

• Well written! As a kid there was so much awe and wonder in the concept art from LA and ALttP. It almost conveyed a vintage and medieval like vibe to it.

I will agree it will feel different but it seems similar to the photographs from the DX version:

zeldagalaxy.com/wp-content/img…es/gbc/ladx/cutscenes.png

Perhaps this is what LA was supposed to be back then?

• Now that that remaster of the first Onimusha is out I'm seeing your old avatar everywhere, which I previously knew *only* as your avatar, and it's disconcerting. :P

Posted by John

• Hahah, nice. I only recently learned what it was from myself. But I haven't seen it around for that remaster yet. It will throw me for a loop I'm sure.

Posted by Max N.

• Literally all I knew about Onimusha until, like, last week was that the 3rd one had the samurai protagonist swapping times with a modern-day French cop played by Jean Reno.

Posted by John

• WHAT. That is so much more over-the-top crazy than I ever imagined from that series.

Posted by Max N.

• Yeah, that was roughly my reaction to "Demon army from fictional Nobunaga-era Japan ends up in modern-day France" as a concept.

Posted by John

• I also saw you on the Switch e-shop

• Hello there. I'm Guinea. It's nice to meet you!

Posted by Guinea

• I know you disnt care for it but I’m hyped as heck to play DQ11

Posted by JPineapple

• I do think that there are certain types of players who love it. I just wasn't one of them!

Posted by Max N.

• It's got a really nice, really comfortable classic JRPG feel. High budget JRPG the game. That's all some people want.

Posted by Max N.

• I totally understand that but fuck that is exactly what o want . Haha

Posted by JPineapple

• I’d just like to reiterate you’re a pretty cool guy

Posted by JPineapple

• are you the lord of shadow I think Gabriel elmont killed them all

Posted by JPineapple

• Guess who’s playing destiny 2

Posted by JPineapple

• Yesss. I myself haven't played Forsaken since december, and it's VERY different now, so I'm basically enjoying it with totally fresh eyes. It's a nice change of pace.

Posted by Max N.

• I’m only playing it because it was free on ps plus LOL though I am having fun can’t complsin with free :p

Posted by JPineapple

• Sooo I ended up deleting destiny 2. I just ended up losing interest really fast . I
Do think the gameplay itself isn’t bad but well random thoughts Haha

Posted by JPineapple

• It happens! No game is for everyone.

Out of curiosity, do you play any other games in these categories?:
A: Console FPSs
B: Loot chase games (Diablo, Borderlands, etc)
C: MMOs

Posted by Max N.

• Definitely play FPS played a ton of borderlands and diablo as well as dipped my toes in path of exile

Mmos not so much . Tried WoW various times bu lost interest though I did end up loving ff14 a realm reborn

Posted by JPineapple

• were you in an RP group wayyy back when social groups were a thing?

i remember being a part of one circa 2008 and your name (Max Nichols) is ringing hella bells for it. unfortunately, i cannot remember the name of the group anymore >>

Posted by Solsetur

• I don't think I ever did any RP at Zelda Universe. I was SUPER active at the old Realms of Hyrule forum RPG circa 2003-2006, but that's probably not it! Is it possible you're just remembering me from around the ZU forum in general?

Posted by Max N.

• Maybe! I definitely remember you being around but for some reason I've associated you with that group xD

Posted by Solsetur

• Just wanna say you’re pretty cool dude

Posted by JPineapple

• Why thank you! I appreciate it! And I think I can guess what made you decide to post this... which means you're pretty cool, too.

• is this the wall of popular zelda article writer Mirren

Posted by Cody

• Yes, this is Mirren. Put me down for five articles next month. They'll be great and definitely on time, I stake my reputation on it.

Posted by Max N.

• Are you gonna vote in the Zelda awards? I nominated you for biggest purist.

Posted by The Wizard of LoZ

• Hey, thanks for accepting my friend request. :)

So when you say you're a purist, how extreme are we talking? I'd like to think I'm somewhat of a purist myself since I believe the first three Zelda games are the best in the series, and everything went downhill with the release of OoT.

• What happened to your Zelda fan survey? I can't believe how long ago that was.

Posted by The Wizard of LoZ

• That looks great! It seems like a lot of zelda redditors like it! You may be able to message one of the moderators and ask if they can sticky the survey. I've seen them do this before with one of their own personal surveys. They may be willing to sticky yours due to your purpose. On the right side of the zelda reddit page there is a box that lists the moderators' names. You can click on one of them and message them. Let me know if you have any questions.

Posted by HeroOfTime5

• Have you tried posting your survey on The Legend of Zelda There a lot of people that visit that subreddit and I'm confident you can target a wide and diverse audience. They done surveys on there is the past and a lot of people participated.
