  • how did you vote in the referendum

    Posted by Avalanchemike

    • same way as anyone else, by filling out a ballot and dropping it off :P

      Posted by Colu

    • well that's more than most BCians

      Posted by Avalanchemike

    • But for real, I voted for the change. But I can't remember what order I ranked my preferences for the voting systems. I actually had to get a new ballot because I was talking when I was filling mine out and managed to put two things as my third choice, right after I told myself to pay attention and not fuck it up. Of course.

    • YOU ARE GOOD BY ME THEN

      Posted by Avalanchemike

    • I was honestly sad that it stayed has first past the post or whatever. Like, I’m someone that doesn’t generally vote. It’s all very much over my head and it’s almost profound how hard it is for me to understand anything political. Because of that, I just don’t vote. And I *know* that’s bad.
But when the referendum came around, I was pretty stoked because it made sense to me and I understood what was going on. The prospect of change made me feel more motivated to be more aware of that kind of stuff and actually, you know, vote.
Kinda lost the motivation when the change didn’t happen though. It all just doesn’t make sense to me again. It does make me wonder though, I wonder how many people don’t vote because they feel the same way I do eh?

  • I didn't know you're a cook! Same!

    Posted by Guinea

    • Yeeeeah, I am. I hate it, truth be told. Lol. I’m more of a prep cook though

      Posted by Colu

    • Oh I gotcha. I love cooking lol

      Posted by Guinea

    • It’s more fun at home, for sure lol. But I don’t much enjoy working in it haha

    • You can also have this Bulbasaur plushie I got at Burger King forever ago. It still has the candy in it! Don't eat it!

      Posted by Guinea

    • Why does it have candy in it??

      Posted by Colu

    • Idk. It's a plushie with a hidden pocket, and a bag of candy. American ZUer's from the 90's should know what I'm talking about lol

      Posted by Guinea

    • I mean, I’m not surprised. But I never really went to Burger King! I always got extremely sick when we went there, so we stopped altogether lmao

      Posted by Lady Sunshine

    • Well, there’s a bunch of things I could bitch and moan about and get all hung up on. But you know what? At the end of the day, it’s not worth it. It’s literally all temporary little things.
I’m actually doing fantastic! How are you??

      Posted by Colu

    • same I guess

      Posted by Lady Sunshine

    • Oh my god. You’re a funny lady! I still think kidnapping is a good idea. Then you’ll always be stoked and none of this silly “same I guess” stuff!
Wanna know something funny? I’m gonna tell you anyway. A piece of bathroom art that we have is a stickman taking a poo.

  • Hey there, how was your weekend?

    Posted by Romano-British Medli

    • It was good! Didn’t have to run around all over the place getting stuff done because we managed to do it all early :3
The week could be better though.
      How’s it going??

      Posted by Colu

    • Oh, that definitively is nice!
      What happened in your week?
      Mine wasn't good as well...

      Posted by Romano-British Medli

    • All work stuff! But it’s okay, I’ve only got one more day left and today was pretty good! What happened?

      Posted by Colu

    • Colu!!! Weekend!!!
Hope it will go well for you!
      As about me:
      Life happened! XD
Just was minor depressed because of reasons...

    • Aww I’m sorry to hear that! *giraffe hug*
      But hey, it’s the weekend!

      Posted by Colu

  • Wait you’re giving up sugar AND caffeine?! How are you alive?!

    Posted by Winnie

    • To be fair, I never used to really drink coffee! I wouldn’t touch the stuff for months, and then I’d have it for a week straight like a fiend, then I wouldn’t touch it again. Lately though, as in the last couple months, I haven’t been able to stop having it. I’d rather not depend on it, so I’m cutting it out as well. Also, one of my favourite things to do with coffee is, weeeelllllll, dip cookies in it xD

      Posted by Colu

    • Coffee and cookies sounds so amazing right now!

      Posted by Winnie

    • Chocolate dipped peanut butter cookie dipped in black coffee mmm I want haha

  • HI CANADA FRIEND I LIKE SIMS TOO did we just become best friends?!

    Posted by MissKatrinaLynne

    • What’s your play style? I like creating stories for my characters (usually along the lines of soap opera with plenty of drama and betrayal) but I also just really like building houses haha

      Posted by Colu

    • It has varied A LOT over the years. Back in the early days, I was all about making houses (death houses in particular) and killing sims xD lmao! Sims 2 and 3 I did a little bit of everything, some playing, a lot of building, but I really got into mods, pose player, and creating stories. I tried a legacy challenge, too, and was pretty heavily involved in the forums and had a 'simblr'. I haven't played a whole lot since then, with college and work and life. I have Sims 4 now and I've been focusing on a few families and going as far as I could with them (or until I got bored lol). I haven't done a whole lot of building like I used to (seriously, I collected real estate magazines and had a pintrest bored and just an entire binder of house ideas lmao) but every now and then I get the urge to just spend hours building houses or just messing up the live of an innocent sim xD lol

      Posted by MissKatrinaLynne

    • I have returned! I got distracted by things yesterday and forgot to reply. It’s a habit of mine, really xD
I never really got into the sim-killing, as funny as a some of it is. But to be fair, I didn’t have much exposure to sims in my younger years! I had a couple Sims 2 games for the PS2 that I played the crap out of. my all-time favourite Sims game is still Sims 2: Castaways. Something about being stranded on an island and having to work your way towards civilization was quite appealing. It was also highly amusing to me (that’s an understatement, I thought it was the funniest thing on the planet) when your sim finally makes it back home and they’re just like, “F this” and proceed to return to the island to live out their days haha. The first time I played it though, I didn’t realize you could have more than one sim. So my sim was all alone (and very lonely) and somehow I became best friends with a monkey. Total game-changer when I learned you can have multiple sims, like wow lmao.
I have Sims 4! I’ve got a bunch of the expansions/etc for it too (id like to pick up the rest of them at some point). I know it gets a lot of flak, but I actually highly enjoy Sims 4. For some reason I’ll never understand, it runs better on my laptop than Sims 3 ever did. Plus it’s pretty and I’m shallow xD

      Posted by Colu

    • no worries, i tend to get easily distracted as well lol! we were probably twisted little kids so i mean, we liked that humor lol! sims castaway was definitely awesome though, i totally forgot about that until you mentioned it! i really liked the 'get a life' in the ps2 version of the sims, too, where you had to do challenges, move out of your moms house, etc.
its funny - i think sims 4 has much more appeal when it comes to building and CAS mechanics, but there are some things i miss about the older gens, too. sims 2 had a lot of cool stuff when they introduced teens (or was it 3?) they could get pimples and stuff. but then i think for a while, sims 2 didnt have the same dating mechanics that even sims 1 had - when you sent your sims out, i dont recall you being able to go with them, and i liked that about sims 1. obviously that has changed since then and you can do that again, but it seems like when they come out with a new gen, they're always taking something away from the last gen that i liked. i just want a game with all of it... lmao.
and, naturally, i was WAY INTO the horses in sims 3, so im disappointed they didnt bring that back in sims 4 pets. like, come on. so, for that reason, sims 3 is still a favorite of mine. so far, i feel like it has the most game play option (seasons, supernatural, toddlers, learning to drive, mid life crisis - really some cool options that i dont think have been in any others, or even sims 4). but, then again, sims 4 is still relevant (no sims 5 yet...) so there's a chance they may include another expansion pack with horses or farm styled elements or something. but it does have a much better CAS design, too. way more user friendly.
man. sims. what great game xD i could talk about it all day lmao

      Posted by MissKatrinaLynne

    • Oh yeah! The only expansion I have for Sims 3 is the pets one. I found the cats and dogs to be a little bit of a hassle, but it was fun having a horse! I don’t want to see a Sims 5 yet, way too soon! There’s still so much they can do with Sims 4. The only “game” I’ve ever preordered is the City Living expansion because I love the ideas of apartments and some of the mechanics they brought in (lot traits? Heck yes! Festivals? Gurl you know it)

      Posted by Colu

      Posted by Colu

    • I'm a little bit stressed because of the exam, (and a bit depressed because of life, lol), but otherwise not much is going on.

Do you still think people need to die? Because I do! XD

      Posted by Romano-British Medli

    • Exams can be stressful for sure!
Haha yeah, I pretty much am always on some sort of state of “people need to to die”

      Posted by Colu

    • Excellent! Yeah, people are just... urgh!
I know this is old, but: "OMG, same!"

  • Okay but for reals the mobile puzzle game spoiled me forever because now I don’t even have to clear a table for a puzzle. Or buy a puzzle (sometimes they are expensive!)

    Posted by Winnie

    • My mum keeps trying to get me to do a mobile puzzle game (she’s addicted haha). I find a bit more satisfaction in actual puzzles though! I really want to do a 3D one :D

    • Hi! It’s super exciting. You’re a super cool person. Also I love your hair omg, just putting that out there. Thanks for the astrology stuff <3 I saved mine to my notes :3

      Posted by Colu

    • Right back at ya! Thank you that's very kind of you to say, and that's so cute you saved it! I love messing around with that stuff (obviously); any deep dive into what makes people tick, I'm interested. I love everyone's different personalities and individual characteristics. It gives me a positive outlook on humanity, especially when it's hard to have faith in people these days.

      Posted by Kae

    • Aside from the astrology stuff from today, what other sort of personality type things do you enjoy? And of course I saved it! I like having insight in to myself. I have an easier time getting along with people when I understand myself :3

      Posted by Colu

    • Oh gosh corny things, like the Myers Briggs (even though Corporate environments can make these annoying), True Colors Personality test, general psych tests - I think you said it best, I enjoy expanding my knowledge of self so I can relate better to people!

      Posted by Kae

    • I feel like there should be a thread dedicated to personality stuff, it’s cool stuff!

      Posted by Lady Sunshine

  • Colu feel better! I really feel for you and hope things go well at your appointment tomorrow. Also if necessary cloves may help numb the pain as they did for my wisdom teeth.

    Posted by Winnie

    • Thanks! I’ll keep the cloves in mind, in case I need to numb pain. I cleaned my mouth and took some ibuprofen as soon as it happened. I figured it’s probably best my mouth is clean and the ibuprofen will prevent any swelling! The main source of discomfort is the broken tooth rubbing against the inside of my lip. Also, it sounds funny if I say anything with an f sound haha

      Posted by Colu

    • Hey! How’d it go today?

      Posted by Winnie

    • Well, there was absolutely no pain! Turns out, this is the tooth I’ve had a root canal, so there’s no nerves in the tooth, which means no pain! It’s fixed now, you can’t even tell that part of my tooth isn’t real

      Posted by Colu

  • BAKING

    Posted by Lady Sunshine

    • YES

      Posted by Colu

    • ME TOO BAKING

      Posted by Lady Sunshine

    • but in all seriousness, what kindof bread are you making? I love making chocolate banana and I really want to make a cranberry nut bread soon.
Plus I got an awesome baking cookbook for christmas that I can't wait to dive into.

      Posted by Lady Sunshine

    • Okay okay okay, what’s your favourite thing to bake?? Any techniques you swear by?? Experimental, stick to recipe like a T?? How often bake?? :D

      Posted by Colu

    • I usually just do a white bread! I used to always do sourdough, but I’ve had to take a break from it because my starter turned bad. Once I’ve figured out a more overall baking schedule, I’ll probably start doing sourdough again. I’m missing out on a lot of my recipes right now (biscuits, crumpets, crackers, etc) because they’re all sourdough based!
