  • All good there? I heard there was a lot of flooding/tornadoes in your neck of the woods.

    Posted by Kakarot

    • The tornadoes didn't do too much, but the flooding has been intense across the state. Nothing happened to me personally, but quite a few people have had to be rescued...mostly for driving into water. It's crazy how fast things get out of hand.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Glad you’re good, I recall some crazy flooding when I lived on Long Island that had similar results with traffic.

      Posted by Kakarot

    • Yeah, I drove around today to check out the damage. As horrible as it is, I'm in awe. Miles of farmland and such underwater that I'm used to seeing above water.

Now, the Aransas River had two barges knocked loose, heading towards a dam that will flood a relatively heavily populated area (Webbers Falls if youre intrigued to google) if it's damaged by the impact, followed by an important bridge if it keeps going. Just insane how fast things can get out of hand.

  • Hello Rambo!

    How have you been?
How is life treating you in your part of the world?

Have any good eats to share?

    I love to cook.
    Food is good stuff!

I hope to soon see you around, Rambo!
    Tead.

    • Hey Tead!

I'm doing well as I've moved to a new place. The weather is crazy though I like the nice temperature it brings.

I'm a boring eater right now, but steak is always nice! I imagine I'll cook something with seafood in a few weeks. I'm craving something like shrimp alfredo.

      Posted by Rambo

  • How far along are you with Metroid Prime 2?

    Posted by Kakarot

    • I rage quit on Alpha Blogg when I fell down its boss chamber before I could heal and save. I didnt have enough health to tank a couple hits and figure out the strategy. I need to pick it back up which I imagine I will soon. I was just annoyed I'd have to redo the puzzle before that boss.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Oh man I know that feeling. The Alpha Blogg is tough to keep your health up the full fight. It’s a simple enough boss, but the window to shoot off a super missile and get out of the way before getting hit is so small.

      Posted by Kakarot

  • Hey friend, glad to hear you got home safe

    Posted by Winnie

    • Thanks! This guy was an odd one. Apparently, he was married, but had a stripper as the background of his phone, talking like they had a relationship. "There's a language barrier, but we have fun." Like, wtf.

I finally got on his ass when he took a curve way too fast on wet asphalt, having to run off into the dirt to stop. We were out in a rural area with no service and hard pressed to find another Uber to pick us up if we decided to get out. It was raining, so that may have ended terribly.

Lol, then we ended up not being able to find an Uber home and had to make friends to take us to civilization. There we made more friends and I now have the number to a private driving service in case this happens again! Things always work out :)

      Fun night though

      Posted by Rambo

    • There may be hope. Might have convinced a company to run lines out to us. Yay

      Posted by Rambo

    • This is what I wanna hear. Haha.

  • What’s this about chocolate milk and hangovers

    Posted by Lady Sunshine

    • It's definitely broscience for me, but it helps me recover quickly. High carbs and it has a nice range of nutrients to revitalize with.

Pedialyte probably does the same, but choco milk is funner!

      Posted by Rambo

  • I wanted so badly to do high gravity training like Goku.

    Posted by Kakarot

    • I'd be lying if I said DBZ didn't inspire me to start using weight vests and wrist/ankle weights. That stuff always gives me some motivation.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Yessir, I totally used wrist and ankle weights...

...for about a week and then they collected dust haha. I need some 50s like in the show!

      Posted by Kakarot

  • Hey there! Would you be interested in joining a game of mafia by any chance?

    Posted by Kaylin

  • How did you finish it so fast?! It took me forever and I’m still stuck on traitor lord!

    Posted by Winnie

    • Having so much fun I accidentally didn't sleep Friday + crappy weekend weather meant quite a few hours out into. And traitor Lord does suck. It took me a while to figure out how to deal with it. I don't think he's actually required to progress to the final boss though.

      Posted by Rambo

    • He’s not but getting past him leads to one of the alternative endings, finishing him off is my goal this week, did you pogo him to death?

      Posted by Winnie

    • No, I don't think there's enough room for that. I definitely used Sharp Shadow since you're suppose to dash through him when he charges. Joni's Blessing to take more damage. After his dash and shockwave attacks, there's usually a small opening to land a nail art attack. The disc attacks need distance to dodge in between them and then prepare to dodge his next attack. My biggest problem was letting him get me cornered into a tight space of the room where I couldn't dodge his disc.

As for the other charms, I forgot what I used since I tried different combos from dying so much. Dashmaster was pretty useful though. If you haven't got it yet, Dream Gate is extremely helpful so you don't take damage platforming to the fight. Just don't spawn it where your Shade spawn camps you before you can attack it. I'm really irked I didn't discover the Gate earlier in the game.

      Posted by Rambo

    • So this was the only time that I needed dream gate, I’ve got that to spawn right before the fight. Then I was using everything that gave me extra lives, and tried just pogoing him from the top right corner. I beat almost everything else in the game to this point except Grey Prince Zote and Grimm, which I don’t care about but beating Traitor Lord is necessary to advance the game!

      Posted by Winnie

    • Zote was annoying because he doesn't telegraph his attacks well. One second, he's flailing his sword running around. The next time he's going to do it, he instantly falls and follows up with two teleport drops when you've already tried to dash through him. I think I ended up going full offensive charms to beat him.

Grimm, I found less is more. He's everywhere, but if you just chill and take things slow, he can be beat pretty easy. I went the banishment route this first play through so Nightmare Grimm might be significantly harder.

Also, the Path of Pain...so frustrating, but such a blast with this game's platforming mechanics. It took me a good hour or so to finish it. Just sucks you can only finish it once.

  • I’ve got to confess something.

As of the last couple days I’ve seen both Creed and Creed 2, but have never watched an older Rocky movie.

    Posted by Kakarot

    • The Creed movies were pretty good, but the Rocky movies have some old magic charm to them, atleast the first 4. 5 needs to be purged from the history books. Even Rocky Balboa was pretty decent, though mostly because of that one speech to his son lol.

If we're talking training montages, Rocky IV has one of the best

  • So, did I just read a bit into the personality of Rambo? Did you think it's fairly accurate?

    Posted by Kae

    • Oh, I'm actually Scorpio-Pisces. I suppose there's some truth to it. I seem to find myself around people that need to be babysat lol.

I absolutely suck at coloring though so my "art" side is non existent...unless being an asshole can be an art.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Hah! I think the way you do it, you sure bring grace and creativity to the asshole trait. A scorpion fish though now that's pretty bad ass. Maybe that assholeness just hides all the emotions youre supposed to have heehe

  • *gives Rambo a bottle of 127 year old scotch*

    • I'm afraid I'm on the sober wagon with you for a little bit haha. Though, I'd probably break some discipline to try 127 years out

      Posted by Rambo

  • I have plans for another fitness challenge in February!

    Posted by Lady Sunshine

  • Do you still have plans/aspirations to own a gym?

    Posted by Kakarot

    • Not right now. I might revisit that idea one day just as a little side business, but right now it seems too much of a hassle with as saturated as the market is now.

      Posted by Rambo

  • Cowboys are putting in the work, might still be able to make something of it. I'm just now getting over the saltiness following the Lion's wildcard loss to the Cowboys in 2014.

This was also supposed to be the year I REALLY got into college football, but Michigan lost to Ohio State a couple weeks ago and now that high is gone. One of these years I'll have to get into hockey...

    Posted by Kakarot

    • I know that feeling. We're all spoiled with Sooner football. As soon as they get their second loss of the season, they're dead to the fans. I'm glad we're playing Alabama in a game that counts. Plenty of whiskey and excitement to be had that day.

It does seem the Cowboys are blooming late season. I'm just going to keep watching college football and bandwagon the hell out of Dallas if they make playoffs. I'd say Karma was on your side in 2014. That was the year the refs screwed us over against Green Bay!

I was into hockey when I was a kid. That N64 game Wayne Gretzky 3D hockey got me into it. I don't know much about NHL, but the local farm teams here are fun to watch.

      Posted by Rambo

    • I’ll be rooting for Oklahoma today! My gf is an LSU fan so it’s mandatory to go for whoever is playing Alabama.

      Posted by Kakarot

    • Oklahoma will need all the help it can! Their defense got manhandled on this first Alabama drive. This is definitely not one of OU's finer teams, but I still think they can pull it off.

      Posted by Rambo

    • I’ve got a lot of beer on hand, I’ll help as best I can!

      Posted by Kakarot

    • From way things are going, we all might get to go to bed early tonight. Lincoln Riley just straight gave up on his defense going for it 4th/4yd on his own 40.

      Posted by Rambo

  • Hey.

    Still lifting these days?

    Hope you're doing well bud!

    Posted by Brett

    • Hey there, bud!

Same to you. If I remember correctly, you went into the Canadian armed forcrs, right?

I'm not the beast I used to be (yet), but I'm still in the gym cranking it out. It's too therapeutic not to get something moving frequently.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Actually, I've been trying to get into policing. It's been really hard, but I'm still working at it!

And right? It's therapeutic. I go maybe 3-4 times a week on average and I just find it to be my zen. That and outdoor running still.

Life's been treating you well though?

      Posted by Brett

  • Pretty wild game tonight. You’re a KC fan right?

Happy late birthday by the way!

    Posted by Kakarot

    • Thanks, bud!

Nah, I'm a Dallas fan lol, but I was lame and went to bed early. It looks like them and the Rams were neck and neck all night. Shame I missed it.

      Posted by Rambo

  • Hey, hope you had a good birthday! Did you get apple pie instead of cake?

    Posted by Winnie

    • It was good! Though, I had a feast on steak and bratswurst rather than cake. I'll have cake and apple pie when the family get together happens this week!

Thanks for the birthday wishes. It's Sunday. You better Super Winnie Kick this week's ass, my friend!

      Posted by Rambo

  • I’m biased towards liking Echoes better than Prime 1 because I played it first.

Later bosses get more complex, I’m excited to read more of your thoughts in the thread!

    Posted by Kakarot

    • I already think Prime 2 is the better game. Though the bosses have been simple so far, they are fun. The first Dark Samus fight took patience as you only get a small window to auto target her for the shot before she shields up and attacks.

Just the fact that their are better and more enemy grunts makes this game so much funner. The first game, all you had to do was jump and keep moving to dodge attacks. This game you have to time it a bit better or the spread from attacks will hit you.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Yessir. Have you made it to the Boost Guardian yet? That thing pissed me off something fierce. Might have just been hard mode when I last played, but it deals serious damage in the brown puddle form.

Glad you got the flag! I’m actually slacking myself, I need to get one up! I’ve got an Alaska State flag to put up as well.

      Posted by Kakarot

    • Not yet. The last boss I beat was Amorbis. He was actually easy, but I goofed and forgot I could morph ball. I'm a little after receiving the Emerald Translator. I play these types of games at a snail's pace since I'll try to explore every nook and cranny with what I have before I try to progress the game.

The Alaska State Flag looks pretty nice. I don't know if I could handle having the Oklahoma baby blue flag up on the wall. I just assume the University of Oklahoma's flag is the state flag, as I have far more of those colors.

As for this flag, I'm really liking the vibe it adds to the room. When I wake up, walk up to the computer, it's like it's telling me "Work your ass off, boy. Plenty of others have worked their asses off to give you this day's opportunity." I've caught myself staring at it a couple times this morning.

Wasn’t initially planning to go with Rogue due to the cost, but some of the other options wouldn’t ship to Alaska.

  • Hello human. I've been flipping my tractor tire like a mad ape trying to go Super Saiyan but I need to do more, so I've come to you.

What is a good workout plan that I can do everyday to get cut up? I feel like I can always skip leg day thanks to all the soccer I used to play, but I want to get kinda swole. I have a four pack lol but I'm trying to make the ladies stop breathing, so what should I do?

    Posted by Guinea

    • It really just depends what you have to work with. Prison dudes get jacked with bare minimum, but high volume of whatever exercise. The flipping is good, but I'd go to exrx.net and look at exercises that'll target other muscles you may not be hitting efficiently with just flipping, and figure out how to recreate that movement with what you have to work with.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Wow thank you so much!!

      Posted by Guinea

  • What did you make?

    Posted by Winnie

    • Welllll, a little backstory: I woke up too early this morning and watched the Food Network for a bit. I figured, "I can eyeball carp like that too!"

I ended up pouring a brown sugar/pineapple mix into a crock pot and glazing chicken with it too. Threw in some bacon, poultry seasoning, and a hint of thyme to add flavors (or destroy them in this case). I've done this combo on a grill a few times in different ratios, but it absolutely did not work in a crockpot.

    • Bahahaha! Food Network is dangerous like HGTV, they make things look easy and like anyone can do it!

Sorry about your food, what’s the backup plan?

      Posted by Winnie

    • I rinsed the finished chicken off to get rid of some flavor and will just use it for sandwiches this week. I Foreman grilled burgers up instead. Can't be letting my Monday get spoiled by a nasty dinner.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Omfg you just reminded me it’s streetcar Monday! I could have gotten two gourmet burgers for $12. Curses.... it ends in 5 mins.

      Posted by Winnie

  • Hey friend! Thanks for the encouragement, it went well and we are heading to HH to celebrate. Any fun plans for your weekend?

  • Hi Bear, I'm Fox, nature is nice, yeah>?

    Posted by Kae

    • Hi Fox! Yes, nature is very nice. Are you doing your job in preventing forests fires? Only you can prevent them ya know.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Another damned bear in uniform preaching the word. Yes bear, as a woodland critter I fear fires and am preventing them by not having large bonfires at my parties anymore

      Posted by Kae

    • That's rather depressing. A party isn't a party without something going up in flames and almost killing a few people. With beer and wine being natural flame retardants, this is an issue you need to resolve this summer, friend.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Well well, your tune surely changed Mr. "don't burn up the forest". If bear comes to fox's party and acts as a bear fire marshall, then we can consume the natural flame retardants instead of wasting them on open flames.

  • So what did you get, the 30-06 or the bow?

    Posted by Kakarot

    • I held off. I was spending a little too much money in spring lol. I'm probably going with the bow though. I've been intrigued with bowfishing recently. Think I'm going to try that out after I get my bow skills back up.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Yep, I know the feeling. I’ve started drooling a bit over the idea of getting an AR-50, but I need to keep my priorities straight. I like to think pretty much everything in my life has a purpose as a tool, but I can’t lie to myself. That would be a toy lol.

      Posted by Kakarot

    • Fuuuu. I'm the same way on practical buys, but I wouldn't blame you a bit for that. Just file it under Doomsday/Foreign Invasion purchases along side your canned food items.

Besides, it sounds like the perfect hunting tool for when you build your house and want to hunt elk from your back porch, but on your neighbor's property 3 miles away...and need to blow it in half for visual confirmation

  • Did you by chance work at Tinker AFB?

    Posted by Kakarot

    • Yeah. I was out there for an engineering internship. What I did had nothing to do with engineering though lol.

      Posted by Rambo

    • Fun stuff. Is that the same place you worked IT?

Never been there myself, but I know they’ve got a really good welding course.

      Posted by Kakarot

    • Yeah, that's where I learned it actually. My original internship's contract expired so my supervisor got it extended in a different squadron that put me through their own courses. I loved it too as I wasn't just stuck in an office all the time. I'd say it's when I really started to flourish as an adult. It has a ton of great opportunity for a variety of fields though and working for a base is usually a very, very...very secure job (unless you were still in probationary status and Obama cut your program 3 days from being promoted to permanent status lol). If my current plans don't work out, I've always considered trying to get back on out there. It's my "fail safe" I'd say.
