Ok, there is another logical explanation... maybe, just maybe, you are not a guardian as you stated but that night you were going to do your things and i was in front of you coincidentally but you didn't notice and next to you there was a guardian following me so when i turned to look back there was nothing because the guardian camouflaged and you were behind it at that exact same moment solving this creepy mistery.
