• Haha, sorry, that was funnier in my head. I just want to say that I really like reading your posts, you're pretty awesome.

    • One day, we will have a conversation. It will be about Zelda, it will be interesting, and we'll both step away from it after being enlightened on it's lore. I know this to be true.

  • Hey, don't know if you remember me but I used to he ZeldaSlayah204 back in 2013, just recently joined back up and you were on my friends list :)

  • Since the Q & A thread is already on the next subject, I figured I'd reply here.

Anyways... I don't recall the manual describing him as a demon thief. I know he's called that in Twilight Princess, but the manual translation I used for A Link to the Past doesn't say that. It says he was a member of a race of evil thieves, but there isn't much else given beyond that.

Here's a link to the one I used:

    zeldalegends.net/files/text/z3…tion/z3_manual_story.html

Would you be able to point me to the source that says he was a "demon thief"? I'd love to check it out.

    • The translation you linked to translates "demon" as "evil". Notice that it proceeds to use "evil king" and "king of evil", both of which are translations of "demon king" used in OOT.

    • Well you learn something new everyday, huh? The Japanese word used here is "matouzoku", and apparently, the first syllable, "Ma" can be translated as "evil", "demon", "devil", "bad", "magic" (as in dark magic) and a few other words.

Probably explains why NoA manual inserted that line about them being skilled in the Black Arts.

So... I don't know anymore, lol.

I now understand why you asked that question.

      Posted by ASttP

    • In Japan, Bowser also has the title "Great Demon King".

      Posted by Ganon Vader

    • Examples of "ma" in the series include "Maou" (Demon King) and "Mazoku" (Demon Tribe).

  • Yo, nice username! I like it.

  • The plot of FSA doesn't make sense to me. Then again, I was playing with friends and they mashed the A button whenever dialogue appeared, so I missed a bunch of it. Still, there was too much going on. There's the Dark Mirror, Shadow Link, Vaati, Ganon, the Zuna tribe who are there for no reason, etc. Even the first Four Swords game makes more sense.

  • Can you imagine how much more fluid the timeline would be if FSA had been during the Imprisoning War? For once, I wish that Miyamoto had stepped back. He ruined something potentially useful. I know you don't like the way FSA ended up, so it's really aggravating to hear this.

Posted by The Wizard of LoZ

  • I know, right? He's so underrated.

  • HI!! ;)

  • I read somewhere that it was a mistranslation, and that the actual order he gave was OoT-ALttP-LoZ-AoL.

However, assuming that it wasn't, then I think it could still work. The stealing of the Triforce of Power took place in OoT, so that kills two birds with one stone, because 1) it's consistent with the ALttP, which explains the origin of how Ganondorf became Ganon, and 2) It explains how Ganon got the Triforce of Power in LoZ. In addition, it avoids the problem presented in ALttP where Ganon was killed, and then somehow magically returns in LoZ.

Moving foward, the Triforce was reunited in AoL, which means that it's possible for Ganon to steal it again, leading into the Imprisoning War, and finally ALttP.

To make things interesting, we can also take the HH approach and say that Link was killed after AoL, and Ganon was revived, whereupon he took the Triforce for himself. This leads to the Imprisoning War, and finally ALttP.

LA can keep it's timeline placement after ALttP. This, of course is assuming that we're not taking OoX and ALBW into consideration, since they didn't exist at the time the Miyamoto order was given.

EDIT: I completely forgot that the Great King in the AoL backstory had the complete Triforce. I'll have to think this over again.

  • Aaaand I just noticed that your name Ganon Vader was a reference to Darth Vader. Nearly 2 years and I finally got it.

    Posted by Ericzander

  • Yeah... it was one of the rare occasions where a Zelda game actually focused on tying up loose ends in the timeline, and then Miyamoto destroyed it for no good reason, and then they messed it up even further by introducing a second Ganon.

    Posted by StinksAwakening

  • Sup man.

    Posted by StinksAwakening

  • All that I really know about it is from one book I read a while ago and lots of sessions of reading on Wookiepedia. Just Luke's future alone made me mad. How can it be canon that he turns evil? That was the whole point of Return of the Jedi that he was able to fight that urge! Not to mention half the people from the bloodline end up turning evil too. It's really hard to keep up. I actually like the Clone Wars cartoon, but too many things aside from that rock my mind.

    Posted by Ericzander

  • ALBW pretty much ignores everything in ALttP anyways, so it might as well be considered a remake lol

    Posted by StinksAwakening

  • Sometimes I wonder if Beemnorv's theory would have been correct had ALBW stayed a remake of ALTTP. OOT being the Seal War means a lot to me and remains true in my heart. I find it poetic and it's implied several time in OOT.

    Posted by Ganon Vader

  • Ahh yes... I remember this.. I was a huge supporter of the parent theory, Beemnorv's Predestined Timeline Theory, so naturally, I liked this theory as well. I agree with you, GV.

    Posted by StinksAwakening

  • So you don't believe that he was killed by Link in TP?

    Posted by Ericzander

  • But how do you believe Ganon I possessed an evil Gerudo male if he never came in contact with the Trident in that timeline?

    Posted by Ericzander

  • Thanks for accepting my friend request! I like your contributions in the theory section.

Posted by The Wizard of LoZ

  • Hey, how's it going?! ;)

    Posted by Tuf Pic

  • Ganondorf should have Darthvader's voice

    Posted by HylianKnight

  • There certainly is a lot of mystery behind the story of the eye of truth in general. Iirc it was originally belonging to the Gerudo(?) Or perhaps the Gerudo stole it from whoever invented it

Posted by The Baton of the Wind

  • Hm interesting twist. Speaking perhaps of how he became what he is in OoT?

  •
How can Stallord be both Volvagia and King Dodongo? Volvagia and King Dodongo are two different characters.
The OP is 14 years old according his profile. It is safe to assume, that he is very inexperienced about Zelda Lore.
