  • Hello! I saw that a couple of years ago you had a Big Brother thread. I actually really enjoy the show, and was wondering if (if you're watching the newest season) you'd like to have a new thread to talk about it. If not it's totally cool. Thanks!

    Posted by RealmWings

    • Yeah I actually stopped watching it last season so I haven't seen this new season. Too many twists and fuckery for my liking. I like the more classic game. How long have you watched it? Is the new season good?

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • Well there's only been two episodes and I've only watched half of the first, so I'm not sure yet. I agree that the last season wasn't very good, though. How many seasons have you seen?

      Posted by RealmWings

    • I've seen 2, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18. 10 and 14 are my favorite because Dan Gheesling is my hero lol

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • I stopped 19 after 2 episodes. I really didn't like the twists.

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • There were some legitimately unpleasant people and the end was immensely unsatisfying.

      Posted by RealmWings

  • Thank you for your kind post in my art thread, I really appreciate it! :>

    Posted by Lady Sunshine

    • Np! Your stuff is just very cool. I had a couple accidental cool photos in my classes, but I was never skilled enough with camera settings and photoshop to capture things as vividly and beautifully as you do :P

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • I was more into film than photography. But even then I never really got my stuff looking that professional.

      Posted by Fluttershy

  • Yay someone else who likes Yoshi in Smash!

    Sweet.

    Posted by Guinea

  • Thanks for nominating me for most energetic! Also I'm gonna follow you because you seem pretty cool. I actually was gonne follow you sooner, but I've been so busy with the awards that I never got around to it.

    Posted by TruEdge67

  • Your Korea pictures were awesome! It looks to amazing there!!

    Posted by Lady Sunshine

    • Yeah, it was amazing. The whole trip actually only totaled to like 1700 dollars or so so it was definitely worth it! Probably the coolest experience of my life thus far.

Now to start saving money to study abroad in Japan this next year >_<

      Posted by Fluttershy

  • Lightning round; Favorite Smasher?

    Posted by Hector

  • And lol I finished Citrus. I need to finish APFttU soon. Kind of stopped, because it wasn't what I thought it would be, but I'm changing my viewpoints.

    Posted by Serenity

    • Fair enough. Not everything is for everyone. I'm chugging along trying to finish checking out everything from this last season. I still have 5 shows to watch. Hopefully I'll be able to justify dropping a few of them ^.^'

      Posted by Fluttershy

  • So what this is is a moe anime. Definitely. Most of the time, they aren't even in Antarctica lol so it's more about the former and friendship, right?

    Posted by Serenity

    • hmm I mean yeah. But also it's about the whole journey. To me, the struggle to get to Antarctica can really embody anything, any journey physical or spiritual, or even creative endeavors. That's why the show was so resonant with me.

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • Makes a lot of sense. I relate to it in the sense that I've done crazy things. Not going to Antarctica crazy, but fairly crazy lol

I relate surprisingly to the trope of a main character who basically has to work harder than others to achieve their dreams. I've related to Edward Elric from FMA due to the whole getting your body back thing, since I grew up with a lot of physical issues and the fact that open heart surgery as a baby basically destroyed one of my breasts. I like stories where the person is seemingly below others, but comes out on top, out of sheet willpower.

      Posted by Serenity

  • ok this is going to make me cry.

    Posted by Serenity

    • I cried literally every episode for 13 episodes lol

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • Also, I don't cry especially easily

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • This show is very Japanese. If someone watched this and was clueless about the goings on in Japan, then they wouldn't get as much, but same goes for a lot of anime. Stuff like Shingeki no Kyojin or FMA are more Western friendly lol

      Posted by Serenity

    • Thought it was funny seeing Kobuchizawa-san getting persisted by a host club worker. Like, that host club worker looks like a real host club worker. And the level of authenticity in the architecture and scenery is amazing.

      Posted by Serenity

    • Yeah the whole show feels very detailed and realistic, which is cool for something with such an out there premise

      Posted by Fluttershy

  • I relate a lot to Nadeshiko.

    Posted by Serenity

    • She eats really well and likes to sleep if she isn't totally energetic.

      Posted by Serenity

    • Yeah, I like her a lot :P I might have to seek out the yuru camp manga.

Completely unrelated, but you should give A Place Further than the Universe a shot if you haven't already. It's my new favorite anime, and I don't take that lightly lol.

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • I have it in my queue, the Antarctica anime that you mentioned.

      Posted by Serenity

    • Yeah, I'm shocked how much I loved it.

I have like a big google sheets ranking of every anime I've ever finished, so I'm super big into rating and ranking shows once I finish them.

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • What's your top 3 most favorite anime?

      Posted by Serenity

  • Long time no see :) (no worries if you don't remember me >>;; )

    Posted by Hazel

    • Yeah, sorry lol I've been on and off ZU for almost half my life at this point >_< So I don't remember everyone. But what's up? Nice to make your acquaintance once again lol

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • When we really talked was when I was in nayru which was years ago by now, so no worries. Hazel-rah might be more familiar? But not by much

I'm mostly freaking out about what I need to finish at work today but then I get a week in Seattle to decompress =D How's life going? Sounds like a lot's happened in a few years if your update in the lgbt++ thread is anything to go by!!

      Posted by Hazel

    • A week in Seattle is cool. Do you live there or is it like a trip?

Yeah I mean a lot has happened. But at the same time like basically nothing has happened >_< I'm just slogging along in school, still living with my parents to save money

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • Just going for fun! I need a week off from work lol. I'd love to live there though, it's such a cool place and the coast is gorgeous if you decide to make the drive west.

I feel the same way, although I kinda fell backwards into a job that's probably better than I deserve :v I don't really feel like I've personally changed much over the last several years other than starting to get into a bit of my own identity crisis. Although I've probably matured emotionally a bit, and maybe that counts for something.

      Whatcha in school for??

      Posted by Hazel

    • Yeah, I get to take a couple breaks from work this summer to travel and I'm super looking forward to it. I've been to Seattle once, but I didn't get to do as much there as I would have liked.

Yeah I mean I'm in the same spot on paper that I was like two and a half years ago, but I'm in an immensely better state mentally. It's good that you feel like you've matured emotionally. I've kinda become addicted to self improvement in the past half a year. For me, just so long as I feel like I'm improving or working towards something I feel okay.

I'm in school for web development, with a minor in Japanese for fun :P

      Posted by Fluttershy

  • Best pone

    Posted by RileySharkie

  • I'm doing quite well. Despite things being pretty much the same as they've always been, just about. haha Thanks for asking! :3

How's your transitioning coming along, if I may ask?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • *long post moved to PM*

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • I think I understand what you mean. We can discuss it in detail in a PM. Best not clog up your profile with long comments and such. haha

I'll send it your way right now.

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

  • HELLO

    Posted by Serenity

    • Hi

What are your former usernames? Idk who anyone is anymore >_<

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • This Zottie

      Posted by Serenity

    • oh yooooo wassup?

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • Just trying to make good money ahaha things are really awkward right now, but I got a crazy surgery some months back, now I'm trying to gear for the next one.

      Posted by Serenity

    • yo, congrats. Are you happy with it?

I wound up kinda reshuffling my priorities and not going through with any transitioning or anything like that. Idk if I still identify that way or not. But I'm still doing alright :P

      Posted by Fluttershy

  • Oh my god hi! It's been so long since I saw you, I was a bit worried. How are you?
    (Kay Faraday, former Nayrulian)

    Posted by Mordred

    • Yeah, thanks for the username history. I have some friends on here with new usernames and I have no idea who they are >_< I'm doing well, thanks for asking. Life is busy with school and work and stuff. How are you?

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • I'm doing alright, on new anxiety medication that's kind of been messing up my sleep schedule even more >.>

Last I knew, things were kind of difficult for you. Have they improved at all?

      Posted by Mordred

    • Hmm yeah, I hear those types of meds can be tough. I hope you can get adjusted to it!

Hmmmm yeah I kinda wound up reshuffling some of my priorities in life. I decided the consequences of transition were too weighty for me to go through with it, at least at this point in time. I'm glad I thoroughly explored the option, but I'm just focused on different things now I guess. Like I'm really working on grinding out my writing, and I'm like doubling my efforts in school to try and graduate in a reasonable timeframe. But I'm doing well. I'm not depressed about it or anything. So I guess things have improved? lol idk

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • Well, I'm happy for you, then ^.^

      Posted by Mordred

    • Thanks lol.

      Posted by Fluttershy

  • Your avatar is a reminder that I should probably finish squid girl someday. And your name a reminder of my favorite pony from back when I watched FiM, lol.

    Posted by Chel

    • Lol thanks. My avatar is a reminder that I finished squid girl and it was okay. And my name is a reminder of my favorite pony from back when I watched FiM lol. Also, yo, nice to meet you :3

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • Lol, well said. :D

Nice to meet you as well! Been away from the forum for a while? :o

      Posted by Chel

    • Yeah, it's been a year or two. This place was my jam on and off in middle school and high school (hence the username lol). Lately I've been super into anime though and I don't have anyone to talk about it with irl so I figured I'd check back in and make some new friends/reconnect with some old ones.

and you're new it seems. You're liking this place okay? I haven't been on all that many forums cuz online discourse stresses me out and I try to avoid it, but ZU seems like it's a pretty nice forum.

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • A good idea, I think! :D

And very new, in fact... lol. I've been liking ZU a great deal since joining, and have found it to basically be the best forum that I've ever been on. :)

The Nayru clan board is typically super, super chill and welcoming (not sure how it was when you were around, though I've been told that it has changed a lotttttttt), so if you're not generally super comfy with online social stuff, it might be a decent place to start to reacquaint yourself? :3

(totally not saying that just cause I'm one of the Nayru clan mods)

      Posted by Chel

    • ooooh I was wondering what you were a mod of. I like Nayru. It was cool and chill back when I was active and I have a lot of acquaintances there. I'll probably stop lurking and post something at some point >_<

ZU is probably the best forum I've ever been on, but I joined when I was 13 and stuck with it, so I actually never seriously participated in any other forums.

      Posted by Fluttershy

  • Long time no chat. How have you been? I miss our conversations.

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • Yo, I'm active again I guess.

Also, Idk how/if you can see username changes. Who did you used to be? >_<

      Posted by Fluttershy

    • Hatsune Miku, Dolce, Mimiku. I hope that rings a bell. haha

      How have you been!?

Posted by Amber The Gay Fox

    • I've been doing pretty well. It's crazy coming back here after I've been away for a while, but it's a nice place. How are you?
